I know someone said it was the stupidest movie, but I love it. Just thought I'd show my excitement because it's finally hitting DVD in January (as well as its sequel Scream, Blacula, Scream). Man, if Blacula is getting a DVD transfer there's hope for every movie.

I only meant that I didn't think that it was up to par with the rest of the other horror movies of its time...

I can agree with you on that. It might not be up to snuff with the horror of the time, but it's a blaxploitation classic.

Killer Clown, Your Avatar Kicks So Much Balls!
It's as if it entered a Roshambo Contest and beat the world champion...
I love it :D

Star William Marshall had very strong acting roots(I believe he was in a lot of Shakespearean productions) . He really gave this part a lot of command, maybe moreso than the film deserved. Unfortunately, this film was probably a bit of a career killer for him.

every time i see this title, i hear the tv from the simpsons:
"Tonight on Blaxploitation theater, Blackula, Blackenstein, and the Blunch Black of Blotre Blame."

Marshall was also in the Blaxploitation Exorcist film - ABBY.
Some other good blaxploitation horrors:
Blackenstein (terrible lol)
JDs Revenge (most under rated blaxploitation horror)
Zombies of Sugar hill.
The Watts Monster
Death Express
Black Devil Doll from hell

The poster for Abby was hilarious. Sugar Hill and Ganja & Hess are my 2 favorites from the blaxplo-horror genre.

Blacula is an enjoyable movie. William Marshall brought a real sense of pathos to the role.
And its damn funky! :D
