An origin story made by the people who made the most recent one.
I would rather see Rob Zombie make this one but then again, I'm one of the few who liked what he did with Halloween.
Anyone saw the last Texas Chainsaw movie? I read it's quite bad.

I also would rather see Zombie do it! I love his take on the Halloween movies!!
Yes, I own the last TCM movie. I like how it took off from the very original one, no one has done that till now. It also gave a background story which I liked.

The last one in the series was pretty bad, I just can't see this going well.

The Hannibal series took that turn and look how "Hannibal Rising" ended up.

Always great to see Leatherface back on the big screen.

Despite its many, many flaws, Texas Chainsaw looked great on the big screen. Count me in on this production team's next Chainsaw entry.

As with so many other franchises, they need to let this one go and come up with something original.

Man I am losing track of all the Texas Chainsaw movies. There is a lot of these, and didn't they already do a prequel? They don't need another prequel. That is going to be lame with another one.

I am a huge fan of the original but that last one that came out was just awful! I am however not a fan of Rob Zombie's movies and think that this film could have potential if they don't ruin it with a stupid origin story! Origin stories really take away from characters like Leatherface. He is so much scarier when you don't know what he is and why he is the way he is. That is why he was so scary in the original! They have a chance to do that with this one, but they
probably won't! Check out indie film First Annual Barbecue. It is a concept for a prequel that has gained some support! Here is the trailer. You can see the film on IndieReign.com

I too loved what Rob Zombie did with Hallowe'en (the first film was especially good, I thought). I like his brutal, relentlessly raw characters and think he would make an excellent job of a version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The story of the movie is concerning so far. I can't see it being successful. I'm probably going to watch it but I really hope they aren't going to give him a new name. That was one thing that made me really upset while watching the newer movies. To me Leatherface will never be Thomas Hewitt or Jedediah but Bubba Sawyer.

The problem with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the same problem with a lot of other film series. The producers make way to many of them trying to make money, and they lose the flare that made them what they were. Sometimes there's a moment when it is time to hang a film series up for good, and I think Texas Chainsaw Massacre is passed that point.

Quite bad, but Dadadarrio (?) is really enjoyable. I think she's a good actress aside from her obvious physical supremacy. The movie was really, really bad. The remake in...2003? I thought it wasn't bad. The closest in line with the original.

I'm surprised Repo hasn't chimed in his two cents yet.
