Hello! I'm not much of a horror movie person but I'm staying with my boyfriend for 3 weeks and we want to watch some good scary movies together. What would you advise? :)

I just checked out the trailer for grave encounters, any good?

Something scary! Preferably not zombies or vampires. Something like The Grudge, Shutter, The Haunting In Connecticut. Just really scary and jumpy! :)

Recycle - from the Pang Brothers
The Entity - staring Barbara Hershey
Paranormal Activity - any of them, some say blah blah, but they all made me jump
White Noise - again not that popular but jumpy
The Haunting (1963) - oldie but goodie from Robert Wise

Try some original Korean horrors, many of them being remade.

Thumbs up for The Entity.

Personally i cannot think of one modern horror or ghost story that scares, not one.The Paranormal movies are crap, full stop, though some will disagree. As are Insidious and the Conjuring, all garbage.Stick to the older movies for a proper scare.

The Legend of hell House is another i like.

Echoing the Insidious and Dark Skies suggestions. Also: The Strangers.
