Romania's Bran Castle, so named for its resemblance to the castle belonging to the titular character in Bram Stoker's Dracula, is on the market.
"If someone comes in with a reasonable offer, we will look at who they are, what they are proposing, and will seriously entertain the idea," Mark Meyer – whose firm, Herzfeld & Rubin, is handling the sale – told the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph.
Dating back to 1377, Bran Castle was never visited by Stoker, but he is believed to have read about it and based his character's main residence on the real thing. Stoker's Dracula is based on the legendary Vlad Dracul, a.k.a. Vlad Tepes, or "Vlad the Impaler," as he was known to intimates.
Sadly, Dracul never lived at Bran Castle either, at least not in the traditional sense. Documents suggest he was captured and imprisoned there for two months.
The 57-room manor sits on 22 picturesque acres, and while Meyer did not disclose an actual price, at one point, investors were apparently hoping to get $135 million for it.
