I am a new user to this forum and undergoing an obscure search. I am looking for shots and scenes with closed doors in horror and suspense films, early 1900's through the late 90's, foreign or American. These doors can be closed, locked, or with fog or glowing light pouring in from the threshold, or dark or normal-looking.

Most ideally shots of doors being knocked on, tried to get into (but cannot, since they are closed or locked), from either side (the protagonist trying to get out, the antagonist trying to get in, vice versa). Light-knocking, hard-knocking, all of this.

I'm currently running numerous searches and skimming subzin (http://www.subzin.com/), have exhausted TVtropes and am currently fast-forwarding through all the free streaming films I can find. I have a handful of leads but am currently batting ZERO as far as finding scenes that fit this criteria.

Since all your other threads got deleted, I'll post all my recs here.

The Old Dark House
The Terror
The Exorcist
Poltergeist.

I'm watching The Messengers right now, and in the first 5 minutes it has a mysterious locked room.

Really, this is such an iconic horror trope I'm sure there will be hundreds of films.
