A woman had been sleeping next to her dead husband's decomposed corpse for one year until authorities made the grisly discovery this week.

Apparently, 79-year-old "Marcel H." from Liege, Belgium, died back in November 2012 of an asthma attack, according to Carters News Agency. His wife was so upset that she failed to report the death and continued to sleep with the body until Belgian authorities made the bizarre finding on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

They were led to the apartment because the landlord claimed the couple hadn't paid their rent since last year. Neighbors never reported a bad smell. The body had mummified.

that's pretty disturbed. I think perhaps ashes in urn would be a step up to normal behaviour. I guess she feels love is lost if not his body there but I do agree with the words ''til death do us part''

True love, but really carried to an extreme.

Think about the scent. Smell of rotting and decaying corpse of all this time. Delicious...
No, in serious manner, this is quite unsettling. All I can think of is the odor and how it's been on those blankets and in that bed.
//Waking up next to a corpse and saying good morning. Corpse does not answer, how rude that would be?//
(Also, this sounds like Nekromantik, all over again.)

At the least she could have hired some black-market taxidermist...:danger:

At the least she could have hired some black-market taxidermist...:danger:

That is true. I heard that you cannot even testament yourself to be handled by taxidermist? Like, making yourself into a stuffed art? Or art in general. Or be any creative (like making a book cover, from skin and giving it to your relatives). Or anything that you would remind of you, after you have been gone.

Black-market taxidermist, I see the logic here.
