For an awfully long time I resisted. I resisted many things, perhaps I'm just a nostalgic young fellow. But eventually there comes a day where one just thinks "well...I'll give it a try."
Next thing you know your walkman is an MP3 player, your VHSs are DVDs are Blu-Rays and then BOOM! No more buying DVDs, let's watch it on Netflix. What's that? The book costs £10 but the eBook costs £5? And the kindle screen IS as good as people say.

You deplorably convenient bastard!
I'd wager that all of us are proud of our presumably extensive movie collection, and many of you still retain your prized VHS tapes for their nostalgic value, but nonetheless...I was doing so well - for a young chap such as myself having 250+ DVDs to call my own was pretty good, I was fairly proud. But I've finally been ensnared by Netflix. Though I still but some, it's just too easy not to.
Likewise - partly because I'm a slow reader - I've always kept books that I read as a trophy of sorts. They sit on the shelf as a reminder of my commitment and ultimate success. But a Nook (fuck Amazon) was on sale for £20. Initially it was just going to be for my Uni reading - no more printing, save the planet etc. - but then the prices and the convenience ensnared me.
There is a lot to be said for these new e-storage/streaming/cloud based media - they're quick, cheap, easy and far more environmentally friendly. But the collector in me also mourns for the physical ones. No, nothing's STOPPING me from going to HMV and buying them (other than many of these DVD/CD/Book shops beginning to close BECAUSE of these developments) but still...I'M WEAK! :'(
