I think Real Life is more scary and horror than the horror movies, because all the things what happening in the world gives me the creeps, and the murders, rapes,it can happening to anyone.
Every day is a blast to live.
I'm sure everbody feels the same.

I know that this is a popular way of thinking but I'm really tired of hearing it. Everyone seems to say it like their the first ones to ever have this concept of fear. Yes real life is more scary then monsters and ghosts but isn't that kind of the point. To take us away from real life fears and give us a fear that we can control?
I think I lost my train of thought. This is only my opinion and I'm not trying to bash anything you say.

I think that's the whole point of enjoying horror? It's a fantasy, an unreal experience that lets us escape from the terrors of reality for a brief spell..

Fear of life is unnecessary, we are sensationalist creatures that thrive on emotions like fear and let it consume us.
We blame the media but it's supply on demand really...
Sorry I'm rambling a bit..

One of the reasons why I enjoy horror movies is not only that it takes me away from reality for a while, as others have already said - but that it gives me a safe way to get the real life horrors out of my system. I use it as a way to deal with anxiety too (I live with daily panic attacks) - it gives me a feeling of control. I can "blame" the anxiety on what I see on the screen, and I have the remote control.
