Hello, I am Gloria. I am a born-again Christian who works as the choir director at my local church here in Los Angeles. I have no intention of posting again, but I do what to say something. I think it is horrible that so many of you watch this demonically inspired garbage. By doing so you invite evil spirits into your lives. You should all give up your vile habit of watching and loving horror movies and throw away all of your horror movies. After doing so go and find Jesus, the one true savior. You will feel so much better about yourself and the world. Thank you and God Bless.

To be honest, I have never heard so much garbage in one post in a while. It is fine if you want to go on believing in Christianity that is your right, but not everyone agrees with you. Horror movies are not demonically inspired nor do they "invite evil spirits into your life" (in fact, I do not even believe in demons, so). Most horror movie directors are against violence and use the medium as a way to denounce it. Clearly, the true purpose of horror movies has gone completely over your head. And if you think that anyone on a Horror Movie Forum is going to abandon horror movies and throw them all away, then you seriously need a mental health check because you are obviously delusional. By the way, I feel just fine about myself and the world. No offense, but why don't you just preach that stuff to your choir because I doubt anyone here wants to hear that nonsense. I will admit it is pretty entertaining, though.

I would advise against reading the actual link, I think my IQ dropped around 20 points after reading such utter garbage..... The real demons in the world are the type of people who wrote that blog, those that constantly perpetuate lies and prey on the vulnerable and weak, and actual convince them that their words have some value and merit.

I completely agree. It is hard to imagine that people can believe such utter nonsense.

Although I'm not a Christian myself, I have known several Christians (including my own Catholic mother) who enjoy horror movies. And many, many horror movies have religious story lines where "good" eventually wins over "evil". You are clearly talking about a subject you know nothing about (or basing your views on someone else who don't know what they're talking about).
But if you want to scare off people from your faith, and represent Christians as rude people who don't respect anyone else, then you're doing a great job!
I might not agree with everything Christianity stands for, but you will NEVER see me go on a Christian forum to bash the member's beliefs, nor would I ever "preach" my opinions to my Christian friends and aquantainces - I was raised better than that. Obviously you weren't.

From the blog:
Do you hear unexplained noises in your home or see dark forms or shadows that cause you to have an eerie feeling? If you watch horror movies, then it’s probably the number one source of your problems.

LOL! :D I also couldn't help laughing at the list of just some of all the horrible problems caused by watching horror movies... If you add enough issues to a list like that, you're guaranteed that pretty much anyone reading it will have at least a few of them.

Dear, oh dear!
I'm a sinner because I love watching horror, I let evil spirits in because I watch horror! I have never heard such utter nonsense!
I know everyone is entitled to their belief, and it is exactly that, THEIR belief. How can you possibly justify pushing it onto other people? Why don't we flip it? You are a sinner because you don't appreciate horror! You let evil in because you don't watch horror! It's the same old story, like how they used to blame video games for people stealing cars and running down people! It's utter bullshit! People do these things because they are possibly mentally unhinged, not because they played Grand Theft Auto!
How can I be evil because I watch horror! I saved a wasp from drowning the other day!!
Thank you Gloria....I've been trying to turn these heathens around for years. Maybe they will listen to you.

This is one of the most hilarious forum posts I've seen in a long time.
Let's totally forget that current Christian dogma is a result of centuries of misinterpretation, extrapolition, indoctrination, fear mongering and outright lies. The number of vibrant and enlightened societies that have been crushed, snuffed out and killed by the so called "adherers to the Light of the World" that to take something like Christianity seriously is insanely foolish.
Like Metter said, Horror films and other forms of horror are ways of speaking out against the attrocities we see today in the world, as well as a way to sublimate our natural proclivity for violence and our baser natures.
Not to mention that a number of films that you would call immoral or demonically influenced are alot deeper than you and your ilk would give them credit for. Cannibal Holocaust? On the surface it would seem repugnant and reprehensible, but take a moment, just a moment, to scratch the surface and you'll see it as a very poignant and effective statement on the way that the media is manipulated and turned into pornography for the sake of ratings and bending peoples perspectives to suit and agenda. The Exorcist as well, is at its heart a really moral story, a Christian parable, if you would believe it. William Freidkin himself stated that he saw it as a moral and informed piece of art.
So before you allow people to stuff this bullshit down your throat and indoctrinate and assimilate you into their archaic and antiquated philosophies why don't you use the brain that your supposed God gave you and actually inject some critical thinking into issues before you jump out and judge people for things that y ou clearly don't understand.
Okay, I'm done.
