Let's talk a little bit about one of my personal favourite horror film mainstays: The Exploding Head!!!

What are some of your favourite head explosions on film? What are some of your least favourites?

My absolute favourite is the one from David Cronenberg's Scanners. Other noteworthy head explosions that come to mind for me:

Willem Dafoe in Wild at Heart
Chucky in Child's Play 2
Terror Firmer
Boogie Nights

Dawn of the Dead was the first exploding head I saw onscreen so I'm pretty fond of that one.

I love this thread... when my brother and I were a little younger, horror used to be all about the exploding heads for us :D

As it has already been said, Tom Savini has done some really awesome work.

Right now no specific exploding heads comes to mind though, except for the little girl in Lucio Fulci's "The Beyond". And if it counts as an exploding head, the "jesus wept" scene from Hellraiser II. I'll be back if I think of anything else :)
