We have entered the Cinecoup Film Accelerator which has been receiving media attention from CBC and several newspapers from across the country. Our team had a brief interview published in the Barrie Advance. We have also garnered attention from 2 credited actresses, Bianca Barnett and Savannah Ostler. Ms. Barneet has an extensive resume but her largest movie to date has been “Albino Farm” currently airing on the Showcase network. Savannah is a talented singer/actress, having signed a deal with Cineplex Entertainment Inc. and is the star of the upcoming film “Blood Fare” which premiered at Dragon Con in Texas last year.
Cinecoup is like a contest where teams of three make a 2 minute concept trailer for a movie. This national contest will choose 10 projects to option for development and 1 team to receive a million dollar budget with guaranteed release nationwide in Cineplex theatres. We’re currently in the middle of the pack and gaining ground quickly. As the only team from Barrie, ON we hope you will support us by doing an interview with us or at least mentioning our project on your station.
We would be doing a thriller/horror movie titled DOLL FACE where a stalker invades the home of his obsession and turns her into a living doll, keeping her sedated with drugs. The action and the suspense build as he gets increasingly more violent at her lack of submission.
Social voting is part of the process so we need a lot of support. The Facebook page was the main source of public awareness with over 200 followers from across the globe from Australia to Uzbekistan. The link to the contest site and our trailer is listed below. We have just survived the voting into the Top 60 and the competition continues until June with several marketing and video challenges (listed under the ‘Missions’ tab) as we advance to each round.
