Living in the metro tunnels beneath Washington, D.C. was the only life young Nick had known since he was a boy of nine—the day the shadows came to life. They seemed to exist only to kill, to tear the living apart from the inside out, and darkness was the lone respite from the daily frenzy of madness and murder.
But soon the Great Shadow would come, and for Nick and thousands of others who had survived until now, it would bring either salvation, or Armageddon.
