This is probably lame, especially since this subject has been dragged out...
But here is the old question
What was your scariest movie?
Mine was probably the Exorsist.
That movie scared meh so bad...>.<
But I am a baby sometimes. Any one got a flick that made you wet yourself?

I've heard only bad news. First, Liam Neeson leaves the cast. Then the director, John Frankenheimer dies. They replace him with another guy who the studio is unhappy with. He's already shot most of the movie and they go ahead and replace him with someone else to do reshoots. Doesn't sound good to me.

IMO this movie is WAY underrated. I also thought it was pretty damn scary.
Anyways, I'll definitely have to check out Excorsist 3. From what I've read in this thread it sounds good. However, I'm not too fond of prequels, so the Excorcist prequel doesn't sound too intriguing to me.

exactley, sick as fuck, it was more of a psycological thing then anything else, it wasnt ment ot be a teen slasher... it got to me, but one thing that amuses me about it is the fact that they claimed it was tape they found in the woods...and when it became a hit they just had to make a sequal...go figure.

I heard something in the paper some time ago that The Exorcist prequel had been rejected by the studio on the grounds that "it wasn't gratuitous enough" and so the makers were trying to inject a little more gore to secure a release. Why???? What exactly is it that is so frightening about watching someone getting hacked and stabbed to death in a rainbow of blood and guts? Am I the only one who thinks true horror lies in that which you don't see - What made TCM so darned unsettling was in the image suggestion of sick brutality, the torture of being kept alive. Not that I should judge too quickly but what the **** is Michael Bay doing involved in the remake? He knows about as much about the genre as Chris Columbus does about French Arthouse.

First of all I got to say that all The Blair Witch did to me was make me dizzy from the camera movement. The only good thing those guys did was make everyone think it was a real documentary. After finding out it was fake I went to see it and thought it sucked. Two movies that scared shit out of me are the aforementioned Exorcist and Alien. Both of them still get me going just by remembering the first time I saw certain scenes.

I would like to add some films. First of all mentioned Nekromantik. In my opinion it is one of the sickest film which I have ever watched! Director shown ugly, pervered and abomination humane nature. This is film for extremly fan of horror genre. I have watched once and I will never watch again. On the other hand I think it is very good film but scary as fuck...
Second film is Craven's debiut "Last hause on the left". As previous film this masterpiece scary as well. Also this film shows dark recess of human mind. But brutality of human nature has shown little different. Actors have played the pure beast. One of my favourite scene when doc started chainsaw...

Killer Clown good mention on the birthday scene from 'Signs', I am good friends with a guy who is registered on this forum but is yet to post, his name is D.A, him and I went to see the movie and that was the only thing in the whole film that sent shivers down our spines. Too bad about the end of the film, they really should've ended it when they saw the aliens reflection in the TV instead of turning it into an action film.
Sadly no slasher movie has yet to scare me, most of them make me laugh infact. Especially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, great film no doubt for its time, but side-splittingly hilarious none the less.
Also the aforementioned Pet Cemetary, now that was a creepy film, I still hate the scenes with the cat and the little boy...*Shudders*

3. Brain Dead (not Dead Alive)
4. Dawn of the Dead
5. The Wicker Man

7. In the Mouth of Madness

11. The Brood
12. Hellraiser

If you're referring to The Woods, it's the new film from Lucky Mckee. I'm fuzzy on the details, but The Chin stars as the lead girl's dad. The film is about an all girls' school in the middle of the woods. That's all I know.

hi,
i'm a newbie, lifelong horror junkie.
lots of films have scared me over the years. when i was a kid i was badly scared by
-salem's lot
-invasion of the body snatchers (the one with donald sutherland)
-the shining
-carpenter's the thing
-phantasm
my favorite as a teenager was the texas chainsaw massacre, and may still be #1.
the two films that have scared me within the last five years or so are
-dark water (honogurai, the post-ring koji suzuki and hideo nakata film)
-the blair witch project

Nice to "meet" you, mictlan. Some fantastic choices there -- THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and John Carpenter's THE THING are my two favorite horror films of all time, and of I love PHANTASM. Likewise, the '78 version of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS was one of the first movies to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid, so it's a favorite now too. :)
Nice to see someone else who dug THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. I watched it again last night for the first time in a couple years, and it was still very effective. Damn scary movie . . . .
Dying to see DARK WATER. I hear it's great. I'm a big fan of Asian horror movies, and hopefully (if Best Buy has it) will be picking up THE EYE later on today. Can't wait . . . .
Anyway, welcome to the boards. Rock on.
