I did a running account of my horror movie collection and I counted about 320 horror movies, so I was wondering how many other people owned. You can just give an estimate.

I think around 100. I only really own movies that I know I'll rewatch or are collectable.

I'd love to hear some of the obscure one you have in your collection. I'd love to have over a 1000 but I would have no where to put

How obscure we talking...
Super low budget, shot on VHS tape kind of obscure?
Or like Lucio Fulci kind of obscure where probably 40% of people who call themselves horror fans have actually ever heard of him?

Super low budget are always good I'd say.

Woodchipper Massacre is good family fun (seriously).

That is crazy, I can't even imagine 1,000 horror movies. I think my whole collection of all movies put together probably equals in the range of 1,000 to 1,200. Honestly, my family thinks i'm crazy now that I have as many as I have (not that, that is going to stop me from collecting more). I told them that there were people who had hundreds more, but actually hearing that someone has that many is startling. Like Fat Malky said, I would not even know where to put them. I could probably create room for about 70 or more additional films, but after that it will be a challenge to find more space, but I will certainly try, when I get there. In regards to Lucio Fulci, I have not seen any of his movies yet, but it just so happens I rented his most famous film Zombie 2 from Netflix and I plan to watch it today or tomorrow.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone...lol. They're all bad. One of my best friends who loves bad movies almost as much as me couldn't make it past 30 minutes of Heavy Metal Massacre.
That said he loved Microwave Massacre.
Black Devil Doll From Hell is pretty funny too, if only for the Mr. T type voice on this Doll as he's forcing this woman into some puppet love.
You'll be reminded of Psychos In Love anytime you eat grapes for the rest of your life if you watch that one.
They've all got their moments.
One of these days I'll finish typing up a list of all the horror movies I have.

Congrats on discovering Fulci. I have around 40 of his movies on DVD (He didn't only do Horror). Just keep an open mind when watching his movies. Italian Horror is far different from American Horror and you have to understand that Fulci usually had nothing to work with.
Some producer would put up a $100,000-250,000 and say, "Zombie movies are hot right now we need a seasoned director to make one with no budget, and lets not give him much say in how we want it made", so they would hire Lucio and he would do the best with what he was given. Many of his films suffer from low budget and producers who wouldn't let him make the film he wanted to make, but his "actual direction" for me has always been something truly wonderful to behold.
Still, he had many "Gems" and some of my favorites still get no respect.

I have compiled a list of every single horror movie that I own. A total of 420 horror movies. There are some movies that can be debated as horror movies, but these are all horror movies according to my research. This list is generally alphabetized, but numbers are put at the front of the list (unless spelled out on the movie) and series’ are kept together regardless to what the first letters of the sequels are (it is alphabetized by the first letter of the first film). Within a series, the films will be in chronological order (Hammer films will be grouped separately). Also, as is customary in alphabetizations, minor titles will be written, but ignored for the purposes of organization. Remakes will be alphabetized as normal, but when they are right next to each other, they will be organized by which one came first. There are also some science fiction films, but they are considered horror, by horror movie sources (such as books or the cases themselves). Names of individual’s will also be ignored for purposes of organization. Versus movies will be considered separate from their respective series’. This explanation will go first followed by the list. Note: I will continually update this list and this particular opening to reflect a change in the number of films that I own (the films will be directly added to the list).

I was thinking 320 horror films were a lot to own but after i just counted my DVD collection im at 80 DVD boxes. With I say 20 of them are double or triple movie packs (child's play series, Fest 1, 2, 3, midnight horror collection of 8 or so) so I say with all of that I say I have probably 150 horror films on DVD and probably about another 100 or so on VHS.
I say about 250 different films.
BTW those $5 horror collections of 8 or so movies at Wal-mart suck! they might have one decent movie if that in it.

Here is a link to a video record of all the horror movies I own (as of July 6, 2013): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9-0RO6G7Ig. I wrote a written record earlier in this thread, but if you want to see the visual record, then check out the link.

Hmm, I counted them once, and I think it was somewhere around 450. But I have to be honest, I used to be the kind of collector who would buy anything for the sake of the collection itself. If it was horror, I bought it - even if I knew I didn't like the movie!

Actually, that is how I am too.
