View Full Version : Which do you prefer?
Regards your 'zombie' films ,do you prefer the bumbling ,lurching ,jerky movements of your rotting flesh corpse after a meal of brains? or the super speedy ,ferocious, rage virus infected type??.
Although I enjoy a good zombie film I loved 28 days later as the infected acted purely alone ,beating the shite out of their victims .None of this mass surging into public areas ( indicative of our material world and our 'zombie' like approach to consumerism)-possibly!!?
What would you like to see zombies doing more of in your films? If they can 'remember' certain things surely driving etc wouldnt be off the agenda?.I want to see more zombies in vehicles!Speeds stuff up a bit .
many people don't consider "infected" people "zombies". There has been more than one argument around these parts pertaining to said subject.
I myself prefer the "zombies" over the faster "infected" :D

Fulci`s zombies are the best for me.
I like all types but the slow bumbling ones are more scary, especially in massive numbers.

I prefer the Romero slow zombies that crave the flesh of anything living. I don't much care for running zombies, and zombies that crave brains are only found in the return of the living dead films which are horror comedies. I don't really like comedy in my horror except for in a few cases.

I prefer the zombies from such films as Val Lewton's I Walked With A Zombie, The Serpent and The Rainbow and George Romero's films.

I like my zombies slow
I like my zombies to be different, the outpost was to me a great zombie movie as the story seemed to pull me in and made them zombies different to others I've seen. But I prefer the rage virus type over the slow ones because its a more realistic scenario than a slow person who has died and woke from the dead. I think reality scares me and in reality we have more chance of accidentally creating a mad human disease than spawning someone from the grave

I would like to see them the way Brian Keene and Stephen King describe them in The Rising and Cell. More of a hive-mind, intelligent, and powerful. I do prefer the slow decomposing kind over the faster ones, they feel more real to me, more disturbing.

Although infected/fast zombies can be fun at times. I truly think that the slow zombies are the creepier ones. Maybe because they always seem to be underestimated? Who knows, fast zombies/infected just come off as rabid for the most part.

As long as the movie is good I don't mind but I prefer the traditional slow variety it's more realistic to me.
I'd like to see them disemboweling more people in films... no one's really topped that scene in Day Of The Dead IMO.
