Ok,so I really adore Jeffrey Combs for his over the top, angst ridden troubled roles and Crispen Glover for not having to really try at being mad. Patrick Bachau was fantastic playing Albert Fish in The Gray Man ..Theres just a few of mine ..How about you??

This is a tough question. If I have to choose just one, it would be Christopher Lee. No, wait, Peter Cushing. No, wait, Boris Karloff. No, wait, Bela Lugosi. No, wait, Lon Chaney, Jr.

Seriously, though, it would be Christopher Lee.

I have to agree with Ferox on this. But I also like the two Chaneys, Lugosi, Lee and Cushing as well.

Was a real tough choice.

Sid Haig, ffs give me a break.

And Kane Hodder may play great characters but he aint no great actor.

Karloff is defo in there,as is Cushing and Price and both Chaney`s.
Lance Henriksen,Peter Lorre,John Carradine, and the best of all
Tor Johnson.

Ok,i was joking with that last one.:D

I can't think of a favorite right now.

Lance Henriksen is definitely one of my fav's. Such a great actor who has done every role under the sun. I will see pretty much any movie he is in, no matter how badly made it is.

Christopher Lee is in that same ballpark. He's done everything.

Boris and Bela and both Lon's were the originators and I can watch anything with them too.

Vincent Price is another one. Bruce Campbell of course. There's just so many who have done so many great roles.

And yes Bill Moseley was in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 as Chop Top and played Otis from Rob Zombie's movies. He is also the nicest "famous" person I've had the honor to meet.

Elf in the Box, or Elf in the Jar?

I have to agree with a lot of the choices so far!

Other than the ones said (Bill Moseley especially) I would go with Doug Bradley as Pinhead and Tim Curry as Pennywise. They both made their respective films what they are!

I also like Jim Siedow as Cook in (at least) the first two TCM movies. Though in the first I think he's much better - he's the funniest character in what is a horrifically dark film. When he sees what Leatherface has done to the door!! :D

I agree with every name I've read. I would add to the list, however, Bruce Campbell for his role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy, and Elvis in Bubba Ho-Tep. And Anthony Perkins for his role as Norman Bates in Psycho.

Lately, it's Rufus Sewell, for his role in "Dark City," and more recently his turn as vampire boss Adam in "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter." He takes his work seriously and does a good job.

If you ever get the chance you need to see The Devils (1971) he did such a dignified performance against the odds-in my view his finest hour-mesmerizing :)

cant remember his name but the guy who played the sheriff in the TCM remake and TCM the beginning. I thought he did a top notch job, probably one of the best performance of a non horror actor to venture into our genre in the last 10 years.

apart from that i would go with my favorites:

karloff
lee
mosely
englund

Always been captivated by Dwight Frye's Renfield and Fritz. He captured the insanity perfectly. Melodrama can easily be too comical, but he somehow manages to maintain a creepiness that sets me on edge whenever he's on screen.
