That is my question who is the character who scared you the most? From what movie is he / she/ it from and why does it frightend you?

When I was a kid it was the Incredible Hulk from the tv show, when his eyes turned green I would go hide behind the couch. :) I can't think of a character that really scares me now.

Yeah, what happened to legalizing weed? Still, he is a far cry better than Romney, what a dick smack.

Obama is 100x better than Bush and I certainly hope he wins over Romney. Romney is greed personified but maybe that's what you like.

I don't actually remember being afraid of him but my mother tells me that I would run and hide until his intro was over because he scared me so much.

I do, however, remember Chucky from Child's Play scaring me- I've always hated dolls thanks to him. Intellectually, I think that Freddy Krueger also scared me because he's not an easy monster to fight off.

Interestingly, Kevin Yagher did effects work on all three of these characters. He designed the Crypt Keeper, did Freddy's make-up in Nightmares 2-4 and he also did Chucky in every Child's Play film except for Seed Of Chucky. Seems Yagher specializes in characters that terrify children and scar their childhoods.

Sister Ruth from The Black narcissus gave me nightmares growing up, Kathleen Byron did 'deranged' rather well!

This is a good one.

1. Freddy Krueger - From the first movie. I watched this when I was too young. I didn't want to go to sleep. The remake did nothing close to this. I fell asleep during the remake.

2. Michael Myers - From the original Halloween. Another movie I watched as a kid. Michael Myers is the boogeyman. The ending when he still isn't dead and the breathing and music scared me to death.

3. Asami Yamazaki from Audition. I've met people like this. Never would I imagine the twist that occurred in the movie. That's the scary part.

4. Jason. There have been times when I haven't been scared of Jason. However, to this day if I'm in a forest I will not bring up Jason and try my best not to think about him. Once he actually entered by dreams and it was no joke not being able to escape and getting an axe to the head.

Kayako from The Grudge and Ju-On scares the crap outta me. Her unnatural movements and that awful croaking sound. The only horror creature to ever really scare me, besides Samara from The Ring.

The movies that scare me most are The Exorcist, Amityville,Witchboard, Paranormal Activity films and the Paranormal Entity movie. The reason they scare me is I come from a religious background and I believe that there are souls in this world that do not rest. They can occasionally be given access to our world. This is usually done through amateurs playing around with ouija boards or doing other stupid ceremonies trying to make contact.
I have personally never experienced anything paranormal in my own life, but I am open to the possibility that there are other things in this world we don't understand.

I've never been truly scared by a movie. Zombies came the closest when I was a kid, they really creeped me out. I think that's why zombie films are my favorite. But I did experience true terror once. Some friends and I were rock climbing without ropes, and at about a hundred feet we reached a small plateau and decided to rest up a bit. I leaned back against a rock and the rock gave way and I fell. I opened my mouth to scream fuck but before I could I slammed into a ledge about seven feet down. For those few seconds I thought I was falling a hundred feet to my death. That was fuckin' terrifying.

Absolutely. The folley work and unnatural movements kept me up at night (sad to say I was 23 when I first saw The Grudge :o)

Mike Myers DEFINITELY. The first time I saw the original Halloween was when I was 20; never watched much horror before that except for black and white classics... And Halloween truly spooked me. Nightmares after that. Mike Myers is truly horrifying.

Pennywise from IT - Gave me nightmares.

And when I was really young, "The Man" from Carnival of souls.

Not really a who but I barely recall seeing something in Doctor Who when I was young. I can't remember if it was an alien or situation. Whatever it was, it freaked me out so much that I've never watched an entire episode. I think I'm going to go back and start from the beginning now that I'm older. See if I can find what was so scary.

I've been doing this for a while now-I'm up to the final William Hartnell series at the moment which is great because I never saw any earlier than the John Pertwee era (when they were repeated on UKGold as it was called then) so its like watching some brand new episodes. I'm finding it absolutely fascinating.

Personally, 'Jason' and 'Freddy' etc didn't really scare me that much to cause sleepness nights thinking they'll jump outta' my closet and kill me, more like cover my eyes. The characters whom did scare me were the guys who could be real, you know, 'Ghostface' and 'Michael Myers' (The original Myers whom didn't seem superhuman).

The phonecalls and playing the 'games' scared the living hell out of me and the way Michael stalked sent shivers up my spine upto the point were I'd look behind me when walking down the street.
