Hi, I am really new at this short story thing. But I managed to whack this together today. It's called:

DEATH AFTER DEATH

She was running. Running for her life. The sky was heavy with dark clouds. Only a few stars twinkled here and there. She could hear it breathing so close behind her. This thing. What was it? She was too terrified to look back. She new she had to make it to the old farmhouse. She should be safe there.

As she broke through the forest, the moon erupted through the clouds. Its light shinning down on the scene playing out below. She heard it getting closer, she needed to go faster, but she was getting so tired. All of a sudden she tripped over the root of a huge tree. Falling down. No! she must get up. She must hurry! This thing, it’s coming…

Julie woke up screaming! She was perspiring all over. She sat quietly in the dark. Every night – the same dream, always played out the same way, only it seemed that each time this creature, this monster, seemed to get closer and closer. The night before she had actually made it to the fence, before waking. Now tonight, she had fallen. This had made it so much easier for the “thing” to catch up! Julie wondered what the next night would hold. She lay back down and went back to sleep.

The following morning it all seemed like some distant memory, yet she thought about her dreams and decided that she really should go and see someone. She phoned up her Mother, who knew a lot of people in the “business”. Her Mother recommended Mrs Smith down on the corner of Blakey and Smart streets. Julie had never been to Mrs Smith before, but she was getting desperate. Her Mother assured her that everything would be OK. Julie wasn’t so sure. She picked up the phone again, and dialed Mrs Smith. It seemed the phone was ringing for ever, but eventually Mrs Smith answered. Julie made an appointment to see her an hour later.

When Julie got to the corner of Blakey and Smart streets, she looked for the building. She couldn’t believe it. There was just a pile of broken bricks and mortar where the building had once stood. This was impossible! She had barely spoken to Mrs Smith an hour ago. How could this happen? All of a sudden she felt a chill run down her spine. The fine hairs on her arms stood on end, as did the hair at the back of her neck. She knew something was wrong. But what could it be? It was broad daylight, after all. She couldn’t possibly be dreaming. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw it. It was huge and it was coming. She turned to start running, but her feet felt like they were glued to the floor. Eventually, she got moving. All of a sudden, she was running through the woods.

The Doctors gave her the first drug, the anaesthetic.

Julie tried to wake up, but it was as if she had been drugged. She could not open her eyes.

“Julie”, “Julie”, she could hear it calling her. No!!! She had to get away. She had to get away or it would surely kill her. “Julie, you must wake up, Julie”. Yes, she must wake up. But how? She was running through the woods again. The clouds were dark and heavy in the sky. She could hear it breathing so close behind her. No, she would not turn to look at it, for then it would surely get her. She hurried on. She tripped over the root of the huge tree. “Get up, Julie, get up!” Yes, get up. But she was so tired. Isn’t there anybody who can help? No-one to save her? “Get up, Julie, get up”. Yes, she must get up, but couldn’t she just rest here for a few moments? Maybe if she hid behind the root that she tripped on? Would it find her? She said quietly to herself “You’re not real, you’re just a dream” over and over.

It was coming. It was huge and it was scary! Teeth the like you have never seen, it was hairy all over, and it smelled, it smelled bad! Before she knew it, it was on her. Ripping into her flesh with those teeth. It had her pinned, she knew she was going to die…

The Doctors administered the muscular paralyzing drug.

Julie could feel the teeth sink in. The beast was ripping her apart, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Finally the Doctors administered the third and final drug, the one that stops the heart.

Julie could not breathe. She struggled in vain. Why was the beast doing this to her? What was the purpose? She tried…

Jack was woken by the clock radio. On the 07:30 news from WNBC came the following aired message: At 12:00 am, 2 July 2003, Julie Black, known to the public as the Black widow, and responsible for at least 8 deaths, was executed by lethal injection. She was pronounced dead at approximately 12:10 am. Huge crowds had gathered outside the prison waiting for the announcement…

Well, didn't have enough time to write a story today, so put this poem together instead. Enjoy!

Fright Night;
Dawn of the Dead;
All these movies
Messing with my head!

Freddy gave me Nightmares!
Chucky made me Scream!
Stay awake, stay awake
Don’t ever dream.

But if the truth be told
I think the worst to behold
Was the Exorcist uncut
Which was well and total smut!
