Where can I get an editing program to make my own independent horror film?! That's really the only thing I need...I have a video camera(not a really professional one but it should do...and if not, I could get a better one if I absolutely had to), I could find people to be in it, and I'm working on the script...just gotta finish it. I just need the editing program. :o

Look into getting Adobe Premiere, it's kind of expensive, it normal runs around $500, but you should be able to get an 'Educational Version, at a local college bookstore for around $100-150.
it's a good program, easy to learn, you can put in special fx, you will even be able to see, how your soundtracks line up with your video.

you may even be able to 'pirate' a version of Premiere off the internet, maybe by using Kazaa, you'll just need to have a registration # in order to install it, the # you should be able to find on computer hack or crack sites.

I've only got the first draft of the screenplay done. But I've started working on storyboards for it. I'm going to direct it myself, I plan on filming it using a Super8

Thanks for the reply :) I don't have Kazaa though...it completely screwed up my computer. :( Times like these make me miss my ex boyfriend...he could pirate anything...absolutely anything. Too bad we don't talk anymore. I guarantee he could get it somehow. :( He probably already has it, actually, since he's into horror and wants to make his own movie, also.
But since I no longer know anyone who can get all that stuff, I guess I'll have to look around for the $150 version.

Sounds alot like my brother....he downloads EVERYTHING.....lets just say we haven't rented a movie, or bought a pc game, or console game, in about 4 years.....but we sure have watched/played them lol:D

I'm scared of Kazaa lite, too. I've heard some people say that it put spyware on their computer, just like regular Kazaa...I don't want anything on my computer with "Kazaa" in the name. :o I'd much rather spend $150 than to download anything Kazaa-related. I actually have spyware on my computer right now, and I don't know how it got there. I keep doing system recoveries, but the spyware always comes back eventually. I wish the makers of spyware would die.

Yeah try LimeWire, you may be able to get it from there, also do a search on google. you may be able to find a site that just pirates software.

Thanks for the replies...maybe I'll look around for a site that pirates software...because I doubt I'll ever download another file sharing program, ever again. But if not, $150 isn't bad for an editing program...I've learned it's better(to me) to pay and not cause my computer anymore problems.

I have adobe premier, photoshop and after effects, all pirated. I'd send you premier if it wasn't for my damn upload limit.
Get kazaa lite, it's safe. Don't listen to those people, you can't get spyware or adware from kazaa lite.

I still have video studio in it's package. It came free with a fire wire card so you know it's cheap. I've used it before and it's ok.

So you REALLY can't get spyware or anything, with kazaa lite? I won't get it until up around the time that I actually make my movie...that way I can delete it and do a system recovery fast if it does screw my computer up.
Thanks, and thanks to everyone else who replied. :)

I had ad aware but I still got pop-ups so I done a system recovery...and I've done 2, 3, maybe 4 system recoveries since then. I need to get ad aware again, I guess. Sometimes I wonder though, if those anti-spyware programs just put even more spyware on your computer. :o

I'm pretty sure the one that comes with other software is Ulead 4.0, which is way out of date. We just got 8.0 today

Kazza and winmx have spyware but a decent spy bot can be gained from either site...
