Rats in Willard new and old
Devil dog in the Omen
Cat scene in Legend of Hell house
Moths in Silence of the Lambs, BIGTIME!
Mutant bugs in Mimic
Cujo
The Birds, in sme movie.......... for a start.
Funny how these have influenced my opinions of these animals over time, although I am still a big cat lover anyway! The little guys just can't scare me!LOL!

Insects are scarier. I prefer horror movies with people as the killers, though.

They may be gross, and that certainly gives them an edge, but, for some reason, people always get to scare me more... LoL
Anyway... The moths in Silence of the Lambs and, Hitchcock's birds and the rats in Willard... OK, that worked.

I agree that people are the most evil. They have intention. Always end up simpathizing with even the worst animals in movies. Really felt bad for Cujo and Willard's rats especially Socrates!

People are far scarier, in life, and in the movies...for the reasons stated above, so i wont bother to restate them....

Yep...which is why I like movies where people are the killers, better than the ones where insects and/or animals are the killers. It's more believable...animals & insects don't just go around killing people for no reason.

I agree...I babysat last year. I know how evil children can be. :o :p They do the stupidest, meanest stuff... animals don't do that. Which is why I'm never having human children...I prefer my cats. :D

Yeah, I plan on never having children. I know exactly what it is that annoys me about kids, but it sounds insane even to me, so I wont talk about it to much anymore.
About my favorite animals in horror movies....
Winston Churchill "Church" - Pet Sematary Cat.

Thanks, nine, really!!! Great to hear that from one of my favs here... I mean it! :)
Now, about children being evil... I TOTALLY agree... And such a subversion of our traditional view of them as soooooooooo innocent is just fascinating, I guess...

I mean it too, told my husband that you are one of the nicest people I've ever talked To!:)
Anyway, Lord of the Flies really rings true. I think kids have a primal nature and it's all in the nurture aspect as to what they turn out to be. Although, every once in a while I meet an old soul, and I can pick them out right away. They have knowledge inside that no one has given to them, it was with them at birth.
So grateful when I meet these people who have lessons to teach me!

Wow, I wrote an essay on Lord of the Flies about how society thinks kids are innocent, but they arent.

Cool orangestar, what was your angle?

Everyone is born with a primal urge to harm things. If kids are raised right, that urge never comes out, but in some cases (serial killers, the kids from LOTF) the pressure just builds up, and comes out violently.

Hey Plaguewind, just being honest! Thanks back, hope my husband would agree!LOL!
So right orangestar, you hit it right on the mark! Problem now is so many parents are afraid to discipline their children, thinking they are being mean. I am strict with the kids at my centre but the kids know that we love them, would never hurt or humiliate them, and know what is appropriate. If the parents could just figure out that kids need guidance to feel loved, we would have a lot less problems with gangs etc.
Kids at my daycare will wait for me to finish talking on the phone to get a hug before they go home. It is about building trusting relationships!:)
