I'm hoping that I'm posting in the right place. I'm searching for a book from my childhood. It was a compilation of short scary stories- and no, it wasn't Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark or any of its successors. I believe it was called "The Room at the End of the Hall and Other Short Stories"...but that could be slightly inaccurate. I know for sure that there were two stories in there that were titled The Room at the End of the Hall and A Face in the Crowd.
The Room at the End of the Hall was about a family that moved into a new house and one by one would disappear once they slept in the room at the end of the hall - and no one remembered the family members other than the narrator of the story who eventually dies in the room herself at the end of the story.
There were black and white pictures that went with every story and in most of them, the person in the photo had strangely blurred out eyes.
There were about 6-7 more stories - one was about a girl that was replaced by an alien version of the child and terrorized her family. I am from Canada and although I don't remember how I acquired this book, it was likely from a scholastic book fair and would have been from the mid nineties.
I find no results for this on google other than people on forums talking about the stories and how scary they were but no mention of the compilation title. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
