Ok, theres tons of threads asking what the best horror movies are, and this one is the same. Only different. What do you think are the best horror hybrids? Like horror/comedy(Ghostbusters), horror/superhero(Spawn, Hellboy), horror/action(Underworld, Van Helsing). Feel free to post ur faves, i love them all!

My fave is probably one of the superhero ones, especially the ones I mentioned, but Ghostbusters rules too! And Underworld!

I quite liked Peter Jackson’s the Frighteners as a comedy horror, it is pretty underrated!
... Most modern "Horror", is of the hybrid type now i.e. action/horror etc...

Thanks I'll pop I'll try and get it this week!!!

A Chinese ghost story is also good ... with Mother tounge, as is the Bride with the white hair, but I think my favourite in the genre is Zu Warriors, I love that movie!!!

... Army of Darkness is one of the best horror/comedy hybrids, the one liners just don't stop!!!!

Hey guys, I've got to start writing down these movies, haven't seen them but I am so sick of mainstream stuff!

Do you have a list of obscure great ghost movies to give to me? I think I'll just start buying. Opinions are so good here, can pretty much trust the recs.!

Try "Rouge", its a nice Ghost story!!!

Those others that Zwoti and I just mentioned are Kung-fu/horror hybrids, so it depends if you like Kung-fu in your movies or not! They have a lot of wire fighting like you get in the Matrix or Crouching Tiger, only better!!!

As for recomendations of cult and foriegn films in general it depends what you like, some of the Italian horror is pretty good, like Lamberto Bava and Dario Argento's stuff!!!!

I think Zwoti has seen more cult horror than me, he seems to know his stuff!!!

How about some classics, Roman Polanski's "Fearless vampire hunters", comedy horror and the classic 1974 "Legend of the 7 golden vampires" which stars Peter Cushing and is a Hammer/Golden Harvest Uk/Hong Kong horror/kung fu which has kung fu Vampires and Zombies ... I love it!!!!

Thanks everyone wrote everything down. Don't mind some kung fu stuff, loved Kill Bill and Crouching Tiger, but like real old fashoin ghost stories. I like them to be something I might believe could be real. That gets under my skin.

Love Polanski so I will check this one out,and will look for movies with the directors mentioned!:)
