I know that Halloween is the preferred holiday, but I do love me some Christmas movies. What's your favorite? Mine is a tie between "White Christmas" (I watch it every Christmas Eve) and "It's A Wonderful Life".
A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
Scrooge---with George C Scott
Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
Santa's Slay

newb, you reminded me of another one: A Christmas Carol (1951 version with Alastair Sim)
I also like The Holiday with Jude Law and Kate Winslet. Yeah, I know, it's a sappy love story, but for some reason I really like it.
Do you know I've never seen A Christmas Story?!

AHHHHHHHH! HF YOU NEED TO SEE A CHRISTMAS STORY!!!!!!!!!
My favorites:
Scrooge (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044008/) (1951), with Alastair Sim - My absolute favorite version of A Christmas Carol
Scrooged (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096061/) (1988) <----- With Bill Murray!!
Elf (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0319343/) (2003)
The Muppet Christmas Carol (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104940/) (1992)
A Christmas Story (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085334/) (1983)
Home Alone (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099785/) (1990)
I also have to tip my hat to:
Black Christmas (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071222/) (1974) (one of the best horror movies ever, IMO)
Die Hard (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095016/) (1988)
Night of the Comet (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087799/) (1984) <---- New Year's instead of Christmas, but close enough...

I've always been fond of:
A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim
Miracle On 34th Street (the original)
March Of The Wooden Soldiers (with Laurel and Hardy)
and the horror:
Black Christmas
Gremlins
And All Through The House (Tales From The Crypt)

Home Alone, and Die Hard...and the Rankin Bass Rudolph TV special. And A Charlie Brown Christmas. You gotta have, you know, a variety.
And you gotta have something hot to drink like hot cocoa, or warm apple cider! ooooo yeah

Still not sure what it was, but I recall a Christmas movie perhaps made in the 90's (a lot of people think I'm talking about "Elf" though I am not, this was somewhat before Elf), that had a plotline of Santas sleigh crash landing in a large park in a city, and the main kid in the film having to fix it or some such...
Nothing really outstanding about it, I've just been wondering.
I'll be *not* watching Christmas films today. Just started "falling skies" and "It's always sunny in Philadelphia", might catch a few more of those between feedings, and perhaps I'll start Game of Thrones as well.

The only memories of ANY Ernest movies are pretty faint.
