Since this is about a book i'm gonna write, i thought it fitting to put this here. Move if appropriate.

So anyway, i posted this on facebook and thought i would do it here as well. I have two ideas (formerly three) for the next book i want to write and can't decide between the two so i thought i would ask all you as well. Hell, i'll even make it a poll. So here they are.

Monster
After losing his mother to cancer, a young boy's father begins physically abusing him. As if growing up, making new friends, dealing with bullies, falling in love and getting beaten by his father wasn't hard enough one day the young boy finds a monster living in his basement.

Dead Inside
Split into two parts (Zombie Man and Apartment of The Dead) the novel starts off with a horribly depressed man whose emptiness and depression slowly turns him into a zombie and he begins hunting down the other tenants of his small apartment building. In Apartment of The Dead, a group of new tenants move into the long closed apartment building that has long been thought haunted due to the mysterious disappearance of the former tenants. They will soon find that the tenants didn't disappear and that they're hungry.

So let me know what you think.

Tough as they are both intriguing but I had to go Dead Inside-I love the idea of depression turning someone into a zombie-something everyone could imagine-best of luck whichever way this goes.

Thank you. I've been working hard lately on editing my other novel so that i can finally start another one. I've given up on short stories for now. I never had much luck with them anyway.

Although I am new here and my comments should be taken with a grain of salt - I would have to go with dead inside it sounds more exciting (no offence).

Thanks for the advice. Everyone seems much more interested in Dead Inside but i think i'm going to go with Monster just because i've been thinking about it and planning it for a long time.

Monster is my pick, because it sounds like it has a bit more potential than the other one.

All the best, Villain. Will wait to see how it all pans out.

Thanks V. Knowing how i want to write both novels, Monster has more of a point to it and is a more involved story while Dead Inside is just fun. I really feel like i need to write Monster now for a lot of personal reasons. Thanks for the good words.

I think you chose the right one. I'm not sure what you had in mind but with all of the abuse he is taking, this monster in the basement could be his mind at work. The love interest should definitely not feel the same way, make it hurt more.

Thanks Bob. I actually just started writing it yesterday.
