Ok, I am pretty sure most of the members of this forum are very familiar with the Hammer films and for you guys, enjoy the eye candy. But if you are new to the classic Hammer films, this is sort of a primer to the more interesting ones, or at least the Hammer ladies in them.
When most people think of Hammer Horror films they usually come up with this guy...
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5265/a100hx1.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5421/a101tn2.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/1286/a102qn4.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/1026/a103py1.jpg
And they would be correct. Hammer Studios (UK) did make their name with remakes of the Universal Horror classics such as Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy starting in the late 1950s.
But if you're just not a horror film fan you may think you've never seen a Hammer film. Well you would probably be wrong. In addition to monsters Hammer specialized in BABES.

Did you like Raquel Welch in "One Million Years B.C." (1966)? Guess what? Hammer studios.
And she wasn't the only major babe to get her start in a Hammer movie.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9615/a104wr6.jpg
If you like Ursula Andress you will want to track down a copy of "She" (1965) which was one of her first films.
But what Hammer studios really excels at is Gothic Horror films WITH major babes. And it's hard to beat that combo. And the films with the most Gothic Horror and major babes are probably the literally dozens of Hammer vampire movies.
The first of which was "Dracula" (1958)
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5255/a106ft0.jpg
Ok, I know what your thinking...you've seen hotter right? Well yeah but keep in mind this was 1958 and she is pretty hot for 1958. And these films stick to a pretty reliable formula. Some chick in a nightie is telling you how scared she is, etc. So you comfort her, and the next thing you know...
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/4818/a107eq4.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7850/a108mt0.jpg

You got one of these on your hands.

The next notable Hammer vampire film is "The Brides of Dracula" (1960) and it features this cute little chicky snack.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6495/a110xk3.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9605/a111jw2.jpg
Even the dead chicks are kinda hot.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3086/a112gh8.jpg
And the undead ones make eternal damnation look...well not terribly bad.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/4137/a113os7.jpg
Now the Dracula sequels are many and I'm gonna skip some to concentrate on the babes.
One of the first babes was Veronica Carlson seen here in "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" (1968).

Barbara Ewing isn't in quite the same class but does her best to entertain as a busty barmaid.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7717/a117ow2.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/927/a118uw3.jpg
One of the first serious babes was Gwen Watford in "Taste the Blood of Dracula" (1970).
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3597/a120hz3.jpg
Somehow incredibly cute doesn't begin to do her justice.
Throw in some gratuitous brothel shots and a vampire and you have yourself a movie.

And the babes just keep coming like Jenny Hanley seen here in "Scars Of Dracula" (1970).
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9655/a115bh7.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5606/a116wf3.jpg
But the babes weren't all vampires and vampire victims. Sometimes it was werewolves. And "The Curse of the Werewolf" (1961) had some babes.
Starting with Josephine Llewellyn.

But the standout was Yvonne Romain.

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5541/a125mv6.jpg
But getting back to the vamps. It was in the 1970s that things got interesting. And one of the reasons was Ingrid Pitt seen in films like "Countess Dracula" (1971).
And you could always count on Hammer to throw in a top heavy chambermaid.

But it was Ingrid who stole the show. Not in a classical vampire role but in a historical one about a woman who bathed in virgin blood to retain her youth.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3961/a127gb0.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7074/a128by8.jpg
But Ingrid was best known for starring in the first of a trilogy of what many consider the best Hammer films ever made. The Karnstein Trilogy which began with "The Vampire Lovers"(1970).
And Scandinavian looking blonds were the order of the day.

Everythings fine until your crucifix accidentally brushes up against heaving cleavage.

But it was Ingrid and Madeline Smith who made the biggest impression. Pippa Steel wasn't bad either.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3937/a132eb1.jpg
And Ingrid played the perfect, not just a vampire...but a lesbian vampire, Mircalla Karnstein.

Easily one of my favorite Hammer films.
The next installment of the Karnstein Trilogy is "Lust for a Vampire" (1971). And again blonds feature prominently.

Even the vampire is decidedly Nordic played by Yutte Stensgaard.

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9117/a150ns6.jpg
And then we come to the last, and some say the best, of the Karnstein Trilogy, "Twins of Evil" (1971).
I'm not sure if this is one of my favorites because it's really that good or if it is because it is just so damn rare and hard to find. I won't go into what I had to do to get a region free NTSC version of the UK studio release on DVD.
This one is really different and stars twins Mary and Madeleine Collinson who are famous for being the first twin centerfolds in Playboy magazine.

Hammer definitely stepped away from the "formula" for this film which starts out with a local band of puritans who round up and kill all the single hot babes on a witch hunt looking for vampires. Of course all the ones they kill are just hot babes (in fact the puritans kill more women trying to save the village than the vampires killed).

One of the best things about a Hammer film is no matter how hot the babes or how much cleavage they never stray from the gothic horror feel. I love that shit.
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3788/a166xj1.jpg
Some think the Karnstein Trilogy was really the last hurrah for Hammer horror films and in many ways they are correct. But one film does deserve honorable mention if only for the babe Caroline Munro and that is "Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter" (1974).
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6011/a168ft0.jpg
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7021/a169ni6.jpg
And there are several others including "The Kiss of the Vampire" (1963) and if you want a great vampire (but with less babes) film try "Dracula: Prince of Darkness" (1966).
Most of these titles, and other Hammer films, are out on DVD and will be rather enjoyable for classic horror fans. And if you enjoyed this post, you might want to check out Hammer Glamour by Marcus Hearn
Happy Halloween.

Indeed! The Hammer Beauties invoke serious drool whenever/wherever they are seen, like I am, right now.
Superb thread and a wonderful ode to the Hammer House of Hotties.
This one earns the much-deserved Sticky status in the Classic Horror section, which it will get in the next 24 hours.

Btw, I would have posted it there, but was unsure if that was the proper place as the films are from both the 1950/60s period (classic) and from the 1970s (modern).
Love a good cleavage thread
