It’s been two years since Hugh Grant was last seen on the big screen. Grant, who last appeared in 2009′s Did You Hear About the Morgans? and is slated to voice a character for the upcoming The Pirates! Band of Misfits, will also appear in the all-star adaptation of David Mitchell’s 2004 novel Cloud Atlas.
Warner Bros. confirmed Grant will join the likes of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess, and Ben Whishaw for the film.
The movie, which Warner Bros. describes as “an epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution,” will be directed and written by Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run).
The project will begin shooting this week.
