OK, trying to get out of the movies area for a while... What's your fav legend that somehow has to do with horror?

Ah, if you can tell me some not too well known legends, I'll be quite glad too...

By Legends, do you meen like Bigfoot and Loch Ness or are we talking Urban legends or Myths. Or will any of the aforementioned do.

Its gonna be tough to find something that somebody hasn't heard of. Especially the horror crowd we got here. One that comes to mind is The Mothman. The movie [ yeah , I know, you wanted to get away from movies ] piqued my interest so I read up on it and there was some pretty strange happenings in the 60's in West Virginia. hmmm the 60's....coulda been some bad shrooms.

My favorite horror legend is that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre really happened. LOL! I've had to tell five asswipes the truth. Sad thing is that all of them didn't believe me. I tell them it's loosely based on Ed Gein and they don't know who he is.

If TCM really happened it would be the most famous serial killing in history. An entire family of cannibals/killers.

In my town of origin, there was a train track running deep below my neighborhood....so at night I'd be awoken with the creepy sound of the infamous "Midnight Express." Anway, legend has it that a porter was killed in a crash more than a century before I was born. The porter was in the back of the train, so he didn't know they were plunging toward doom. Upon imact the porter was decapitated. It's said that his head flew up and was snagged on one of those old timey train post light thingies. Rumor has it that on certain nights you can see his head swinging back and forth.

Now there are stories like this or kinda like this all over NC. The most famous is in Wilmington. However, since we're going with the obscure, I thought I'd give a town legend.

I'm interested to see what other people remember.:)

They were a large family of inbred cannibals who lived in the hills of scotland in - I think - the 18th century, they'd occasionally abduct and eat travellers and homeless people, I think they were all hanged.

I'm my favorite legend.

How so? Well I'm a Ninja.

I once killed a kid for opening a window. Why?

Because I felt like it, I'm a Ninja, I need no reason why.

Once some guy dropped a spoon, so I went and killed the whole town, fucked the guy who dropped the spoon then killed him, and proceeded to grab the spoon before it hit the floor.

Anyways one of my fave legends hails from York PA

The Seven Gates of hell

An old asylum lays back in the hills of York. The asylum burnt to the ground after a fire broke loose . The inmates escaped into the nearbye woods but were all found dead, naked and mutilated. I call this the orgy of death. Not just bodies were found though. seven gates now lie around the rubbled remains of the old asylum, the fifth being the farthest that anyone has gotten. Intense feelings and death have resulted from trying to comlete the gates. And the only way to shake the spirits, as it is rumored, is to go back through the gates.

Im gonna go check it out this summer cuz I know where it is. THATS RIGHT I FOUND IT AND IM A DAMN GHOST HUNTER. lol sry to go off like that but i love the paranormal and the unknown. just need to find a sexy female partner in PA to go on adventures with. Any takers?

yeah buddy that was in the movie urban legends. her roomate is supposedly having sex when she walks in so she doesnt turn on lights and when she wakes up in the morning her room mate is dead. cool movie,

The Sauny Bean family was completely legend. I say that because some sources say it's real. Of course, the proof that it is completely fake? Who nkows! just to elaborate the family like inbred with each other and had like 200 in the family all together. lol

CBS, NBC or one of those had this shows called 'fact or myth' or SOMETHING like that. anyway some of the stories were real and some were just myth.. really weird horrror type stuff

one of them was about this woman who was a writer. she was havin the writers block and went up to some mountain cabin. There was a typewriter in there and she would use it. well she'd write a few pages a day and one day there was an extra line. Something like 'get out the cabin' or somet hing and it turns out some woman was killed there previously. and she found the body

of course its been a while and sometimes i put shit together so this just may be 3 stories that i put together LOL but it was cool none the less.
