Is this for real?

I find it hard to believe it's real but on IMDb it looks legit.

I find it hard to believe that people promoting their latest indie film still think we're complete noobs and will buy the ruse that they're just some random horror fan who ran into something interesting and can't wait to share it with a forum they just joined.

Show us that you credit us with a modicum of intelligence and just say "Here's our new film- check it out, it's awesome!"

You just love all my posts, don't you?
You are the only one replying them :), thanks for that.
I can't credit myself with something I haven't done, but yes, I do obviously know someone who worked on the film, duh!
Do I have to say, "Hey everyone, my friend worked in this film!!!" Check it out!!", there!...

It's more honest than trying to pass yourself off as an objective viewer.

I get why you're cranky ;)
But it's okay, you can let it out on me...
I'm a though nut to crack.

What exactly is your objective at the moment? To convince people to check out the film or to antagonize everyone? I don't get it.

Well, to be fair, I was pretty rough on him/her... but seriously- indie filmmakers- we love films here, and we love checking out new films. You don't need to try and "trick" us into checking them out. Just tell us about it.

And don't ask for money.

Yeah, I don't appreciate that practice either. It feels like I'm being insulted rather than approached.

The worst thing you can do to a film fan is have them believe that you think they're a moron. Believe me, there are no morons here.

Clearly you don't know me. :P

Seriously though, yeah, it seems dishonest and is certainly a deterrent. I know for sure I'm not going to watch this film... unless you get all Clockwork Orange on me or something.

Its an old tactic that was used in the MLM world, you send a email or post saying "HEY I JUST SLAPPED MY BOSS IN THE FACE" or "I JUST QUIT MY JOB" and its a link to there product they are selling.

I personally think it looks like garbage. Not and insult to the creator but I will never give this the time of day.
