Good idea Cheeba...But what happens when they get here and discover that it is 25% horror discussion...35% flaming idiocy...and 40% irrelevant bullshit?...I've already tried this...People just don't usually stay for long...Perhaps if Arioch had control of the General and New Members forums, where people usually come first, and are immediately exposed to most of the bullshit , it would actually make a difference...You don't go around inviting people to your home, without cleaning the place up first...Just my opinion:)

Well I'm a new member that hasn't been turned off!

I am having great discussions making friends on line, and getting great recommendations. A lot of other sites are too snobby. You can't just say that you like a movie, you have to be a film school grad or something or be born a Coppola.

It pays to just ignore the stupid arguments as much as possible.

Rayne - I find that the good posters in here generally stay around long after the shit gets flushed...(SEE....haunted came back...)
Besides, I'm not just saying that you should blindly advertise the place, but, yknow, talk to people you know, people who share an interest in some aspect of horror.
Gamers, movie-goers, readers, whatever...
And not everyone leaves upon viewing the idiocy anyway...nine9 here for example...considering there's been bullshit going on for ages now, I can only assume the same bullshit was going on when they joined...the good ones stick it out because they can see the cool in this place, and the more people WE bring into it, the better. At least if we get a few of our own in here, it'll even up the quality - idiocy ratio a little, right?
I invite people into my home as is. If they don't like it, they're never gonna - so they'll leave along with the built-in stick up their ass...
The bullshit here is only ever temporary anyway...I like to think it sorts out which people are actually worth having here in the first place.

I think you are right, a lot of people who were here when I came on are gone now. I think you just have to be firm as possible on banning. We all know when someone is just here to stir up shit and piss people off! It is also obvious right away who are the serious members.

With the diversity of this forum, racist shit or blatently sexist shit should be trashed.

I do like the fact that this forum has a larger amount of women than the other one I am on. Especially for a horror site. That just kicks ass!

I absolutely agree, I have been enjoying all kinds of conversations on here. Love horror too, but I also have other things to think about. This just happens to be an area of interest that I don't share with a lot of people I know.

Just imagine what the parents of the kids at my day care would think about some of my choices of words on this forum!

By snobs, I mean people who think they can disect a movie like no one else and look down on regular movie fans. This is a frustration when you just want to share your thoughts and feelings about a flick.

Anyway it's great to meet so many cool people of all different ages, locations, and nationalities and still find you have a lot in common!

I go to a Buddhist temple, probably shouldn't say this, will haunt me later... but it is funny because I am this tall blonde in a sea of tiny people. Everyone I know almost is Asian! Needless to say everyone remembers my name! Have gone there for 4 years now.

LOL i hate being so lonely. but then iwent to the university last year and it was like 50% asian and well that didnt work out too well either!! lol

and as for being buddhist. for me, i dont care. and i think most here DONT, i think the biggest turn off here would be christianity of sorts lol. thats cool though. my aunt is buddhist. shes always gettin me to go to some of her gatherings and i do... for the food :D

Buffho you should move to Winnipeg. Our University is at least 80% Asian I'm sure. We are very diverse here, that's why I think not too many people are predudice. I am German & Icelandic.

Vancouver Aquarium is amazing if you ever come here. Lots of Asian people there to!

The Peg has the best hot summers, lots of great beaches and a great art community, however, we don't have the most beautiful scenery and horrific winter weather. The people here though are the friendliest, and there is a lot to do if you just ask around.

Lots of movies have been filming here lately, one was just a block away from me. Shall We Dance filmed here last summer, but I truely despise J Lo so I was not one of the impressed. I heard Anthony Hopkins wil be doing a movie here too soon. So... I guess we are not That boring! Actually LOTS of movies have been done here lately. They like our exchange district.

But... maybe I should go where you are. Disney sounds awesome!
