Something must be wrong with me. Because I couldn't make it through 30 minutes of "Tale of two Sisters" or "Audition" without falling asleep. I tried twice on Audition ! Couldn't do it... so fucking boring..
And I loved "Infection" which everyone seemed to hate with a passion.

I don't know about this Everyone of wich you speak. I liked it alright, and i'm pretty sure Roshiq and Chrono did as well. Just not one of my favorites.
And yes, Audition IS dull and incredibly slow, even for an asian flick. It's the last 15 minutes of it that most people enjoy.

I enjoyed all 3, but I understand your complaint about the first two.

I haven't seen Infection yet or Phone but it was R-Point that I found incredibly dull and boring although it did have a very good atmosphere.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I'd agree with lots of people's posts containing Audition. Slow, yes, but very effective as a horror/thriller I think. And, of course, it's from the genius that is Takashi Miike! Visitor Q might be my all time favourite film, but I'm not sure I'd class it as a pure horror, it's such a mix of genres (same goes for the likes of Ichi the Killer and Oldboy, although brilliant films, I wouldn't say they were horror really).
Couple of my other favourite Asian horrors are Shutter and Dumplings (both the short and feature length versions. The Three Extremes DVD which the short version of Dumplings is part of contains two other good short Asian horrors as well: "Cut" and "Box").

Because it is one of the best (as long as you see the right version, with an absolutely stunning end credit scene).
Are you suggesting we watch less horror?

Audition id deliberately slow paced and inconsequential...for the first half...stick with it though and it becomes balls out NASY

I Saw the Devil. Horror only on so much as Silence of the Lambs I suppose
Tomie
Nightmare Detective
Marebito (I thought it felt Lovecraftian)
The Villain

I watched Tomie as a result of a friends recommendation. I like the odd premise, know it was based on a manga, I agree though it was rather dull. However I do appreciate a new monster. Same reason I'm fond of Splinter. Still not sure why it spawned 8 films I believe. Was it that popular that that many sequels were green lighted? Criticisms aside, I still like the first film.
Uzumaki is also unusul, again slow but unusual in a good way for me though. I find many Asian films are slower paced. More slow unfolding of the story as opposed to fast and sometimes cheap scares we usually see in other countries films.
Carved was another I didn't mind.
Versus is an all time favorite of mine. Evil Dead 2 meets Pulp Fiction.
3 Extremes (I don't like anthologies but these films are not great but better than most)
Wild Zero!!!!! Zombies, the band Guitar Vader, a love story with a morphodite, oh, and a drinking game.
Neighbor 13. What a film. More psychological terror than horror as such.
I Am Father - more of a thriller again
Silk - paranormal research/science/supernatural Taiwan film
Accident - not horror but scary premise
Thirst - Korean
Devilman - Go Nagai's classic becomes live action.
I'll stop for now. Love horror films far to much.

Audition and I Saw The Devil are definitely two of my favorites (Audition rewards patience). I'd throw Tetsuo: The Iron Man in there too, for its balls-out zaniness. At the other end of the spectrum, Acacia is poetic and creepy and wildly atmospheric... if you see it, you will never forget what the director uses instead of movie blood to indicate a scene of carnage.
And then there's Strange Circus, which may not be horror exactly, but is certainly one of the most horrifying films I've ever seen. That one will screw you up for life.

Has anyone seen "Rigor Mortis"? Japanese film touching on a Korean myth about vampires. Stunningly beautiful film. Strongly recommend!!
