I recently read about how Ron Howards adaptation of The Dark Tower is stalling right now. Im in the very beginning of Songs Of Susannah. So far these books have been engrossing and impressive. The story is pretty unusual and I love how its moving along so far. Has anyone else here read, or is reading The Dark Tower series?

No spoilers please!!!

I love it.

Many people hated the ending, but I thought the ending was perfect.
(don't worry, no spoilers here)
My question for all the people who hated the ending is "how the hell else should it have ended?"

They, of course, have no answer.

My favorite parts were the ones involving Cort, and his words of wisdom.
My least favorite is probably Oy. I mean, why?

Yeah, my friends who have read it keep telling me that Ill hate the ending, but its the only way it can end whatever that means lol. Honestly, Ive been thinking that Oy got added to the katet in order to add some more strength to the point of how random Ka can be. I love Oy though.

"AKE!"

I've only read The Gunslinger but i liked that one. I've been meaning to start reading the next one but i have so many books to read i havent gotten around to it. I was disappointed when i heard the studio passed on it but hopefully it'll still get made.

I'm about a fourth of the way through book 3. The Drawing of the Three was my favorite so far but this one's getting pretty good. Definitely an inventive and original series that no one but King could have pulled off.

I love these books. I thought it was gutsy of King to write himself into the story. My only quibble with the end was the Crimson King himself-- I thought he was basically Annie Wilkes reconstituted, which was a boring and not a little disappointing. Otherwise, I thought it ended exactly the way it had to.

Wizard and Glass was my least favorite. I thought the story got really bogged down with Roland and Susan. I don't think King does romance well.

My favorite book is the Drawing of the Three-- so excellent.

Overall, though, I am a total Tower junkie.

I also love Insomnia, which contains references to events and characters in the Dark Tower-- anyone else here read that one? The little bald doctor creatures in that story are terrifying. I didn't sleep a wink after I read it.
