First announced back in 2007, Dead Island's unique take on the all too familiar scenario of us versus hordes zombie made it instantly stand out. Then, suddenly, the game went quiet, and we didn't hear from it again for a couple of years. According to the Wiki, the game will be focused on melee and you can use almost anything as a weapon. It's also said to have 4 player drop in and out at will co-op, Left 4 Dead style. Which is amazing. The game is being developed for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

That's gotta be the coolest and saddest trailer for a video game I've ever seen. Having a daughter myself, that affected me in a way that i don't think a video game trailer should.

Anyway it looks awesome and sounds like Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead mixed together hopefully without all their flaws. I'll definitely be checking this one out.

Yeah, that initial trailer is really where the hype for this game came from. Shows a well made trailer can work wonders, even for games.

Don't buy it, if you haven't. Expensive and it sucks. The only thing working in its favor in the slightest (besides the graphics) is the explanation to why the outbreak happened, which was original. Otherwise..... Buy something else.

It's a genetic thing in the island native's blood, and it got out to tourists somehow. It was dormant in the natives because it had been there thousands of years, but when it got into tourists it caused an outbreak.

I grabbed mine off a torrent so yeah I'm not gonna feel too ripped off if I don't like it.
