Hello all,
My name is Sandy Collora. I've loved horror my whole life. The original Universal horror classics as well as 70's and 80's horror and sci-fi, inspired me to become a filmmaker. In my career as a designer and sculptor for many major motion pictures, I've designed and sculpted many horror icons for so many different products and have enjoyed every one. Like many of you here, I have an affinity for these iconic, classic monsters and wish that practical make-up and creature suits would make a comeback, instead of all this CG nonsense we see today. In my last film; "Hunter Prey", the use of prosthetics and practical models seemed to please all the old school horror and sci-fi fans. Back in the mid 2000's, after I directed the short film "Batman Dead End", I had some meetings at Universal with Gary Ross and his wife about possibly directing the "Creature From the Black Lagoon" remake. Obviously, that film never got made, so I wrote my own sea monster horror film, which is actually what brings me here to you all... It's called "Shallow Water". It's an old school, guy-in-a-suit, creature feature about a group of fishermen and divers who go to a mysterious island to catch some big fish that get trapped in an estuary during a certain time of year. ... You can read more about it here;

Concurrently, I'm trying to raise some funding for the film on kickstarter and thought this would be a good place to find like minded people, who crave old school horror films and want to see more modern films done in this style. If you're sick of sequels and want to see something original, done in the classic, black and white style, give this a look and make a pledge on the film. I'm giving away all kinds of artwork and maquettes as rewards;

Thank you all for looking... I'm looking forward to being a member of this community and keeping you all posted on the progress of this project. I know an introductory post from a new member asking to donate money can be misconstrued as dodgy, but I am a huge fan of Universal Monsters and I honestly felt that this might be something the people on this forum would be supportive of. Thank you again...
Sincerely,
SC
