1) Massive storm struck us yesterday at 3pm. with heavy rain for next 5 hours. Power is out. Water levels were dangerously close to entering our home but thankfully didn't.
2) Just got hit by another huge rain storm. Debris and tin/iron sheets flying everywhere. Tornado warning for the next 48 hours. Hope our home is up to the challenge.

Boy, they really have some wicked storms, don't they?! Saying prayers that he and his wife stay safe, and that their home is OK!
Thanks, Rayne!

Hope they are safe & the storm is over by now. We call this summer storms "Kaal Boshakhi (http://www.answers.com/topic/kal-baisakhi)" here...they are indeed pretty destructive but glad we still haven't face it in its full form so far this year.

UPDATE:
3) Another thunderstorm struck late last night. No power for past 2 days. Heard this morning several families in low areas have gone homeless. Tornado warning still on.

I wouldn't be surprised if that Zombie Proof House was V's all along! He'll be fine - he always is :)

I'd prefer taking on the zombies instead of the weather at least you can shoot them in the head apparently...

Thanks for the good wishes, friends. :)
The tornado passed from about 5-6 miles (out of town) from where I live, at around 2 PM yesterday.
Gusty winds hit us which shook the foundations of the houses in our colony, and both cars got dragged and hit the wall in front and the gate behind with some force. Needless to say, they need some repairing and denting work. Some of the potted plants in our garden went for a ride and were dropped some distance away from our house. Debris and garbage stuff filled the driveway and were cleaned out only this morning. The house is filled with dust and needs some serious vacuuming for the next couple of days.
Other than that everything else is fine. Power was restored late last night and satellite feed started coming in about 30 minutes ago. Skies are a bit cloudy right now but I think the worst is behind us. My cell ran out of battery juice yesterday morning so I couldn't text Rayne about the latest. Thanks to her for posting my texts till then.

Yay V is back!
Good to see you made it through relatively unscathed. I have some tornado stories I could tell too!

Yes I feel we were lucky. The villages through which the tornado passed wouldn't be as lucky I guess. I have yet to check today's papers.
This was our first time experiencing a storm with such force, although I am sure fiercer storms exist (who can forget New Orleans!).
We have experienced heavy flooding rain before, which made us ditch our house for 24 hours till the waters receded about 13 years ago, but this was our very first encounter with a storm this fierce.

Thanks, HF!
They are estimating that the storms have caused around $8 million worth of damages to the power companies alone. Most homes in the low-lying areas either got blown away or had their roofs blown off, some were submerged 3-4 days back when we had that huge torrential downpour for 4 hours, others had huge trees falling into them and smashing them into a pile of bricks.
The rebuilding process is on. Will take about a week to get things normal I guess.

My guesses are that this super-storm harbours mystical powers which have now been passed into your unborn child. You will have a Super-V! He/She will become the world's greatest super hero/ine!
Truly glad you and your friends are fine. :)
