It's already advancing and pretty likely to happen.
I texted Stephen Chiodo (director of KKFOS), and he told me that he had a meeting with MGM, and that things weren't going bad. It's quite possible to be seeing a sequel of this 80's cult classic in a year or so...

I love Killer Klowns From Outer Space. It is one of a few horror movies from my childhood (Back when horror movies terrified me) that i loved. My whole family used to watch it and even my mom quotes it. If there is one movie i dont want to see get a crappy sequel or pointless remake, its Killer Klowns. There is no reason to make a sequel to this and i for one dont want to see horrific CGI klowns pervert the beloved monsters from the 1988 classic. It is a movie that was perfect for the time period it was made in and i dont see it working nowadays.

That being said i will probably still see it.....

Damn me and my curiosity.

big news guys, the clowns are making a come back :D. this is what the chiodo brothers had to say.

We've been working on a sequel ever since the first one came out, but it's a bunch of legal ramblings, with the film getting tossed from one studio to another. We are working on it, we have a great concept, and we've now been working on it so long that we debated between a sequel and a regular remake. We did both. We have content in it that will introduce it to new audiences, but there's material in there that will make it a really great sequel. The only problem is that after 22 years of ideas, we've tried to throw it all into one thing. We have three or four movies' worth.

This could be really good if it's handled in the right way. Hopefully it's not to heavy on CGI.

A sequal? Already?

LOL :D

My thoughts exactly. Although if anyone would eschew CGI, I think it'd be the Chiodo Brothers.
