I had to get a different song stuck in your head, since my other thread disappeared :p

Summertime means 'water' to us...Lots and lots of water...As the regulars here know, we live in the pool in the summer...and on days when we aren't swimming, we are usually fishing.

What does summer mean to you guys?...What do you spend most of your summertime doing?

I forgot to add: I would be in the pool right now, but it stormed this morning and I just looked out the back window to assess the damage...I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of our tiki torches survived, and the pool was sitting there all clear and sparkly, saying, "Get out here and jump in, you know you wanna"...While my WET patio, sitting between me and my pool was sticking its tongue out and taunting, "Yeah, you go right ahead and do that...Freeze your ass off"...lol

It should be warmed up in an hour or two, then I'm outta here :D

We live on Long Island, and as a year-round resident I know not to go near the beaches (major traffic jams!). Like yourself, I'll probably spend a lot of time in the pool.

It's funny you mention this, I was just looking online at summer rentals down the shore.

If you don't have to drive to the beach, then you have it made.:)

I'm amazed at how many rentals are still available. Sign of the times, I guess. Back in the day you had to have your reservation a year - sometimes two - in advance.

We sincerely considered moving to the coast to be near the water, but the weather, especially this year, has convinced us to stay within 50 miles of where we are right now...We live in a tornado alley, but we are on high ground, so we don't have to worry about flooding...Also, we will always have a basement for the tornadoes.

The east coast doesn't get tornadoes. You could move to New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland.

Beaches. And reading and napping in the sand... And swimming in the cold Eastern ocean water... Can't wait to do The Cape.

Living in Ohio we get all kinds of weather. Lately its been a mix of rain and sun. Way too muggy, you would think I would be use to it for as long as I've lived her and I still don't like it. I try to hang with friends or walk outside, but lately I've been staying inside.I use to live on the east coast and I've been thinking more and more about moving back to the east coast, but can't right now. I just started a job( haven't been able to work much due to shipment of stuff hasnt come in. :( ) I want to travel a lot, but I think I'll end back east no matter what.

That's cool. The job I just got I've been working about three weeks, but they've had me off for a week, well this will be my second week off cause it's piece work and I like it accept when the shipment hasn't come in. I'm gonna have to find something else if I can.

Hmm...well, summer holidays for me means sleep. Lots and lots of sleep. I go to sleep at 4:00am and wake up at a similar time the next afternoon. It's an absolute waste, but if I'm honest, I'm not a fan of Summer. I love meeting up with friends etc. but I despise the insects, the sticky-sweatiness, the constant search for shade, the strain on the eyes and the amount of money I have to spend on drinks, not to mention having to bring a noisy fan into my room so I don't die whilst trying to get to sleep :p

Bah, Summerbug!
