Michael Myers hiding in the closet.. what is he telling us ?

I thought six is respectable. However the uncut version is insanely moronic. Over the years, There is a cult following of "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" , My girlfriend is a fan of this film... I don't get it. Maybe I would enjoy it under a different title.

I would go with Halloween 3 Season Of The Witch.

I liked III. I think the only ones I really "like" are the first three.

Halloween 4-mainly for its ending that for me lifted it above part 3.

Maybe I didn't paid enough attention. Why is it titled "Season of the Witch" ?

Because it revolves around pagan rituals.

I like the atmosphere of 4 and 5, I thought 6 focused too much on the "gruesome deaths." I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Resurrection...I guess I like the way H20 rounded off the story, even if it was an annoying retcon...

I liked Halloween III. That creepy tune the kids sung was just great. 3 more days to Halloween silver shamrock. So who cares they stole London bridge song.:o

I'd probably have to go with H2O. I thought it was very well done and should have stopped there, Resurrection was probably the worst in the franchise.

My favorites are the first one, of course, followed by Season of the Witch, and H2O.

Lol, LL Cool J was great but I couldn't stand Busta Rhymes.

John Carpenter only directed the first movie, but he did write the second one, fyi. My fav outside of the first two has got to be 4, with H20 in a close second (even considering the aformentioned awkward retcon).

Season of the Witch deserves a mention, as it gets a lot of flak, more than I think it deserves. It's fun, entertaining, cheesy (in a good way) 80's popcorn horror.

My favourite aside from the first two would be Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers. It seems to cop a lot shit but I thought it was great. The series would've been a lot better if it ended after it because the films that followed were utter shit.

Resurrection is easily the worst apart from it's brilliant opening. I've always hated H20 particularly for how it steered the series into a rubbish Scream hybrid.

H20 was abit self-referential, you're right about that. It didn't bother me much , though, because their aim was to acknowledge their roots in the original movie, while building in their own way. Unlike 'Scream', where random references are made constantly. I'm guessing that's why you call it a hybrid and not a clone, huh?

As far as Curse goes, I the fact they tried to do something other than the standard kids get chopped we saw in 4 and 5 (and there's no little kid Jamie, score!) by adding the cult and radio show subplots. I didn't like how it all fit together, though. There seemed to be a lot going on. It doesn't surprise me that so many alternate cuts supposedly exist.

Other than Halloween, I've only seen Halloween 3.

Even so, I liked it in a cheesy kind of way. It's like a drawn-out section from a Creepshow film.

Plus the premise is just crazy.

The premise is so ridiculous your right, radio waves from Stonehenge turning kid's head into worms and snakes with some kind of cursed halloween masks, wtf? But then they pull you back with some good stuff, too, like the suicide robots and that creepy town.

But, you gotta check out 4-8 out, man. They aren't groundbreaking, but they're worth looking into. Plenty of kills and one of my favorite horror heroes Donald Pleasence. I bet you can find them super cheap, too.

It's more a matter of just never looking into it, than consciously avoiding it.

I'll admit that I don't share may horror fans' reverance for it (I reserve that for Black Christmas which I consider a better, and more innovative, film.) but I still enjoy it.

I do like Donald Pleasence. He's from the same local area as me, so I've always been interested by him. Not to mention his work as Blofeld is one of the best Bond villains ever. And his work with George Lucas (THX 1138) has also helped endear me to him.

Halloween 3 & H20. Halloween 4 would be the runner up.

I didn't like the Thorn storyline in 5 or 6 and Resurrection was horrible. Also didn't like the Rob Zombie remakes.

I will go with Halloween 3, just because it's kind of out there. The masks which will kill kids with all sorts of insects plus violent robots is a combination that probably won't be mixed again. A bonus is Tom Atkins performance.

I need to see Halloween 4, 5, Curse, and H20 again. I don't remember them that much. I recall Laurie going off on her son in H20 but that's about it. I caught the first part of Resurrection once and turned it off...I don't have much interest in seeing Halloween 2 (remake) but I might see it eventually.

Good call on Tom Atkins. I'd forgotten about him. Just saw him the other day, in the Bloody Valentine remake and. I half wanted to check out Season of the Witch just because of that lol.

Oh yeah the story is messy and convoluted but I just really like the look of the film (dark in tone/modernised but still quite true to Carpenter's original film) and Myers is just unrelenting and menacing in it.

After the original i would say H20. Besides 2, it was the only one that felt like the original to me and it was great seeing Jamie Lee Curtis back. Also the ending was perfect and that really shouldve been the way they ended the series.

Atkins is awesome. I use the "it's getting late, I could use a drink" line as much as possible. He's also really good in Night of the Creeps.

...and Maniac Cop and Creepshow as well. It was cool seeing him pop up in the My Bloody Valentine remake and Drive Angry. Great actor.

Black Christmas is pretty awesome. I know I'll be watching it here in the next couple of days. Halloween's first person camera shot to begin the movie never did look the same to me after I saw Black Christmas...but I still prefer Halloween. The atmosphere is unbeatable.
