I think it's time new killer toys horror movies to be made. You know, movies like Dolls (1987), Demonic Toys (1992) and Dolly Dearest (1992) are great examples.

Why don't they make new movies like these above today?

Isn't Charles Band still churning out these films?

You didn't mention Child's Play! What about Phantasm? Wasn't that based on a disgruntled tennis ball?

Anyway, I'd pay to see a gore filled remake of Small Soldiers.

I think the Puppetmaster series is still going strong.

Is "strong" really a term to describe the Puppetmaster series?

I think there are around eight of these so it can't really be a weak franchise. It's not Star Wars but it obviously has a fan base.

I would love another killer doll movie, there is allot of them out there, but they are usually very fun. That reminds me, have any of you seen Cathy's Curse, while the doll do not move there it still houses the soul of the evil spirit so it counts. I found that movie really entertaining.

Yes I think there are around 8 puppetmasters now and have quite a following people really dig those puppets although I think people were disappointed by the last one cos they started using CGI so they claim the puppets had lost their appeal.

I do not know what they where thinking, a movie about killer puppets should be done with puppetry and animatronics. Normally I am a big fan of CGI, however when the movie is about puppets it do help the mood when there are actual puppets on screen even if one can get more impressive effects by using CGI.

I agree with you bookzombie I'm not completely antiCGI it has its place but the whole appeal with puppetmaster and what built its fanbase was those impressive puppets.

Ferox13-bloody hell there are ten! looks like the CGI in part 8(if thats the one I was thinking of) didnt put everyone off then lol

It is like a Christmas movie, I can not remember it's name at the moment. It is about that toys when none are watching becomes alive and can walk about, but if a human being see them move, or see them in any other place than where they had been left then they die. The playroom of two children is a society in itself, and they even have this creepy graveyard with toys which have been seen other than where they where left. The plot of the movie is that it is Christmas and a stuffed tiger toy go insane with the worry that his owner will receive a new favorite toy that will take his place, so he decided to go to the living room, open the child's main present and take the place of whatever toy is in there, even if that will kill him, his friends try to stop him and the whole thing turns into a adventure through the house with the constant worry that they will be seen moving and thereby die.

I loved this movie as a little girl because it has real dolls, and it is so much better than my opinion than Toy Story because it is not just created in a computer, it has substance.

Another example of where CGI could not have done things as good is in V for Vendetta when a huge part of London blow up. That are real miniatures which it have taken love and dedication to make, and real explosions and they only got one chance to film it as if they screwed up then they had to make the miniatures all over again. The explosions just felt more real that way, they where tangible. CGI is a great tool and it has given us effects we could not otherwise have, but in time it is nice to see something tangible in a film to.
