You have 1 year and 2 months to save money for plane tickets, call off work (if necessary), and get dressed, so I won't be accepting any last minute excuses :p

This is for those of you who still don't have Facebook... *looks at Newb and Murderdoll*

1) I did not know that BRUCE CAMPBELL is now an ordained minister and actually marries people :O

2) 'Zombie Weddings' are not uncommon

3) Loveland Castle (A place that I have always loved, and even dreamed about - It's just 45 minutes from my house) can be rented for a wedding...But...Not on Halloween because they use it for Haunted House tours during that time

I think you would win at weddings if you had a Zombie theme and Bruce Campbell as your minister....

I simply must be there! It would be a crime to not witness the matrimonial joining of two of HDC's best members (WHEN THEY'RE HERE!)

How did I NOT participate in that on FB?

CONGRATULATIONS you guys!!!

And to answer your questions:

I would find a singular veritable joy in wearing a horror costume to a friend's wedding. :D

Keep us posted - I hope you can do the castle.

@Caenxavier - Unfortunately, we can't get Bruce because he doesn't do 'private' weddings, but did you click on the link where he DID marry a couple at a zombie wedding (it was at a convention)?

@Ferret - We NEED you to come...This will be the HDC get-together that we have contemplated for years and years!

@Ferox - That's sad...BUT...your idea is AWESOME! :D

@Cheeba - A BABY?!...So, you guys are finally gonna do it...That's huge...I wish you the best of luck. :)

@Nova - Well, I'm still kinda nervous about it, and I'm trying to shake off my "What's the point in getting married?" attitude...Somehow, I guess I just feel like I should...And...Dustin has asked me so many times, my reasons for NOT doing it are getting weaker...lol...We've been living together for 6 years...I guess it's time

@Chrono - After waking from my dream and envisioning all of this in my head...The wedding, the castle, the cake, all of you guys...YOU looked just like this:
http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/43441/2047688470061589475S500x500Q85.jpg

@Elvis - You have no idea how much I WISH I had enough money to fly ALL of you here...BUT...If you can manage to find a way to get here, we ARE trying to arrange a way to pay for guest accommodations at Dustin's hotel!...It's a Hilton extended stay, so every room is like an apartment...The rooms have livingrooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, office areas with computers, dining areas, and kitchens (complete with dishes, utensils and pots & pans)...We can probably get a wedding party/family member discount...AND if you guys choose a 'buddy' and double up (like maybe Nova and Chrono together, for example), we can get the rooms that have 2 bedrooms in them (1 bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the other bedroom has 2 queen-sized beds)...These rooms also have 2 bathrooms in them...The hotel also has a shuttle that picks you up at the airport when you arrive, and takes you back when you're ready to leave.

The hotel also has a fireplace in the lobby, a putting green out back, a gym (fitness room) and an indoor saltwater swimming pool.

If you guys fly in, we will have to find a way to get you all to the castle...It takes about 40 minutes to get there from here.

Hey Guys,
I would love to come, will see wat can do, canny say at this point, depending on where I will be myself. But will definatley let you know at the 6 month mark.

If I do make it I hope a lot of my friends on here do aswell, we would have a pretty good party I think.

Wow! that sounds super cool, man! I'll be more than glad if I can 'somehow' manage to fly over there & attend your awesome party. But at the moment I can only wish & dream about that. Anyway, best of luck for all the preparation for the program & Congratulations!:)

@Elvis, Disease and Roshiq - If you guys can't make it, I understand completely...I know that I wouldn't be able to make it all the way over to where you guys are, even though I would dearly love to...But...If by some chance, there is any way at all, I would love to have you guys here with us :)

Even if you can't make it, we will be thinking about you...Oh...And talking about you :p

And now, I have dreamed about the DRESS (and black, thigh-high boots)!...I've heard the expression "dream wedding" many, many times, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't in reference to what's been happening to me..lol...This really WILL be a dream wedding!...I'll actually have to make this dress...It surely does not exist...Oh well, it might be fun :)

Hmm...I wonder if I will dream about the cake next...:D

Oooo - I would ABSOLUTELY reprise my Evil Alice to your wedding, or perhaps something more elaborate... :D

Not sure if you're down with Day of the Dead stuff, but I've always liked Day of the Dead wedding-themed stuff.

@F13thF - I hope you can make it

@Newb - I'm awaiting your excellent excuse for snubbing us all...*crosses arms*...*taps foot*...checks watch*...:p

Okay, to be serious for just a minute (yes, that IS very difficult for me!)...

I need to share something personal with you guys...and why the hell not? I've shared everything else with you for the past 8 years (OMG...ALMOST 8 YEARS!)

I don't want this wedding to be just a 'wedding'...I'm calling it a wedding/gathering...I do not intend for this to be just for me and Dustin, I want it to be for all of us...You guys are my family, my little horror family...We have all been to other forums, but how many people on those other forums do we know so much about?...How many of those 'other people' do we even care enough to learn about, or 'get to know'?...Have you ever wondered why this is?...I think I can explain MY personal reasons for feeling this way...Bear with me here:

My mother kicked out my dad when I was 2, because he impregnated someone else...That's no big deal, I never missed having a second parent because I never knew the difference...That isn't the point...The point is, my 'family' consisted of 2 people, my mother and me, until I was 10 years old when my sister was born...My mother didn't stay with my sister's father either, because he was an abusive alcoholic...That wasn't any big deal to me either, I was used to being a 2-member family, it was all that I had ever known...By the time my sister was old enough to actually talk to or have anything to do with, I was already moved out on my own (I left when I was 17, my sister was 7)...So, I never really got close to her, and after she became an adult, we realized that our personalities are completely incompatible (that's the nicest way I can put it)...My mother doesn't really know me as a person, she was always working to take care of us by herself (she was completely anti-welfare of any kind, and I am very grateful to her for passing that self-sufficiency on to me...I know that I will always survive, no matter what happens, without having to depend on anyone else), and I only saw her for a few hours a day, when she was winding down and didn't want to be bothered...She is retiring next month, and I have no idea how she is going to deal with it because 'working' is all she has ever known.

I was with Alex and Seri's dad for 17 years...We never had a wedding, we just went to a JP so that I could be covered on his health insurance and receive his social security if he was killed on the job...Romantic, huh?...As my kids got older, their dad became hostile towards all of us to the point that we no longer wanted to be around him, so I told him to leave...It was so easy to let him go, it was kinda sad upon reflection.

On the flipside, my sister has had 3 big weddings, that my mother attended...It would have been 4 weddings, but the one my sister planned when she was 17, ended up not happening...My mother said she didn't mind losing money (non-refundable deposits) on that one, because it was best to stop something if you feel it's going to be a mistake before it even gets started.

When I first contemplated all of this a few days ago, you guys were the first people I told (on Facebook)...All of you were very supportive and happy for us...Then my sister came in and said my mother wouldn't like it...*sigh*...She loves drama, and I don't, so rather than responding to her out in the open on Facebook, I sent her a message saying that I never imagined my mother would even consider being there...This was how that went in private messages:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/BloodRayne/WeddingConvo.png

Okay, why am I telling you guys all of this?...I'm trying to let you know that other than Dustin, Alex, Seri, Ash, and Jordan (Dustin's child from a previous relationship)...You guys are the only family I really have, and you are the only other people who will be invited to this wedding...Well, Dustin will be inviting 2 of his cousins, Sarah (+ her husband Jeff - remember GroundZero?), who you guys have 'met', and Jeremy, Sarah's brother...Maybe Sarah's mom, too...And possibly one of Dustin's co-workers and her husband...And I will be inviting my friend Sergio (some of you guys have 'met' him, too), and my friend Myke, who some of you are also familiar with.

Truly...That's it...That's our guest list.

We will be paying for everything ourselves, so it will not be a big, expensive, extravaganza...I'm still a cheapskate, and I'm not rich either...lol...I honestly don't think I will spend more than $5,000 for everything, and I expect more than half of that amount to be spent on accommodating guests, rather than on the wedding itself...This 'get-together' means a lot to me, not just the wedding aspect...I want it to be about our love of the horror genre, and the way that it has brought us all together.

This will be my first wedding, and Dustin's...It will also be the very first time that many of us finally meet each other in person. *YAY!*

I just told you guys my entire life story...Is that pathetic?...Maybe, but I don't care...I love my life, and I am an extremely happy person with an amazing family...All of you guys already knew that part, though :)

OH!...Many of you are extremely talented in so many ways, and I am hoping to utilize your talents as much as possible for this (not just to save money, I promise :p)...Remember SamTheEgg?...He makes movies now...He may very well end up being our videographer for this event...Who else is getting excited? :D

That's a shame about your mother and sister, but that's their loss.

I don't know you well or Dustin (what's his HDC name?), but I hope your wedding turns out just the way you dreamed it would.:)

@Cheeba - A BABY?!...So, you guys are finally gonna do it...That's huge...I wish you the best of luck.

Yup, we are...well that's the gameplan anyways. The girl is into her studies, and I've got a job with the organisation I want to stay with, so yeah...the plan is gaining momentum. I've even written him/her a few letters. We've chosen River as a name, as it suits both sexes and is symbolic of something kind of cool (no, not about mr overdose, not that I hated him or anything...), serene and life giving kinda thing.

Anyhows, your planned do sounds pretty cool...as I said throw it up on youtube and I'll definitely "be there" hell, broadcast it live and I'll try tune in and say Hey.
But yeah attendance is pretty unlikely.
We'll be spending all our cash around then towards our own trips to Amsterdam (married, all on our lonesome, in secret) and Japan (to conceive), so yeah between that, the work and ongoing studies/eventual baby, a little bit booked.
Though we'll be hitting up the states maybe 5 years later, you guys should still be alive by then right? :D
Best of luck that it all turns out as cool as you wannit.

Rayne - Wow. Thank you for that insight, and don't EVER apologize for opening up here. Honestly, I am very very sorry for the way that your sister and your mother reacted. Honestly, the way that I feel about weddings is that the only "requirement" is that every little detail mean everything to the Bride and Groom. I'm not a religious person at all, but my friend Liz had an incredibly religious and "traditional" wedding and I thought it was perfect. On the flipside, my friend Jon had a totally casual non-religious wedding with whoopie pies instead of cake, and - guess what - it was perfect too. My friend Liz had a corny DJ that did stupid wedding games. My friend Jon had no DJ at all and instead made playlists on his iPod... And both weddings were gorgeous and absolutely amazing.

What makes a wedding perfect is that the Bridge and Groom are reflected in every little detail. What it comes down to is that it's a day to celebrate THEM and to celebrate THEIR LOVE. You and Dustin have an obvious bond over all things horror. Your children do as well. It's not surprising that you're thinking of a horror-themed wedding and, quite frankly, I think that it's perfect for both of you and has both of you written all over it. :D That's the most important thing. It's about you and Dustin. That's it.

The way that I've always looked at weddings (especially since I'm not religious) is that it's a big party to spend with all of your close friends and family. The way that you frame that party is about you and your partner. And the idea of having wedding guests dressed up in horror costumes - Well, that sounds like an amazing wedding that is all about you two.

Screw the naysayers. I read your ideas for your wedding and, well, it makes perfect sense. It's perfect. You'll be an absolutely gorgeous corpse bride and groom. I really mean that.

In terms of logistics - Are you going to send out a "formal" invitation? Via email, direct mail, etc? And I forget - You're in Georgia, right? Where again?

Also - I've always wanted to know - How did you and Dustin meet? And how long have you two been together now? When's your "anniversary"? [/girly questions] ;)

I think they're in one of the Virginias or Ohio...

Rayne
02-06-2011, 09:40 PM
@WickerFan - Thanks for that, and Dustin = DudeGuadalupe

@Cheeba - That's an amazing life plan that you guys have set for yourselves...So exciting!...And I'm sure that we will have plenty of embarrassing video and pictures of this event posted on the 'net for you guys to laugh at...lol

@Chrono - Yeah, you 'get it'...My mother and sister could never understand...They really don't know me, and what I know about my sister, I really don't like...I have told her that if we weren't related, I wouldn't even know her because I just don't hang out (or get along) with people like her...That's just honesty...She agreed, so it goes both ways...We only see each other on Thanksgiving and Christmas...She causes some ridiculous scene during both occasions every year, and we just endure it until mom says it's over...lol...To my sister, a wedding is all about HER, wasting tons of money, and being the center of attention...That first one that was called off when she was 17, ended with her telling the guy "This wedding is going to happen with or without you!"...I'll never forget that statement, yelled in his front yard when my mother went to pick up my sister because she was fighting with her boyfriend (the only reason I was forced to be there, was in case there was "any trouble" *rolleyes*)...My sister's entire life is about drama, and well, she was wrong, the wedding didn't happen :p

Anywho...As for the questions:

1) Invitations - I haven't considered all of the details, yet...But, I probably will send out some paper invitations (oooo, do they make a faux human skin parchment?...:D)...Most likely something that I will make myself.

2) You must be thinking of Brad being in Georgia...WE are in Northern Kentucky, 10 minutes from Cincinnati, Ohio...The Loveland Castle (think about that, too..."Love Land"...HaHa, omg how CHEESY...:D), is in Loveland, Ohio, about 40-45 minutes from my house.

3) December 28, 2004...6 years.

I'm not even sure where to start...I could just say, "We met on the internet", but there is SO much more to the story...So many catalysts.

I tried to type it all out to post here, but it kinda became a mile long...So, I'm sending you a PM...lol

Hi Neverending :)

That sucks you don't see eye to eye with your sister (she sounds like a bit of a dick) but whatever you and Dustin have always been rad in my book so fuck what anyone else thinks.

Congratulations Rayne & Dustin!

If your mom & sister don't like your style, fuck 'em.

Cincinnati's only an 11 hour drive from where I'm at with the excellent city of Chicago located almost exactly at the midpoint. It would take some planning, saving and finagling with the wife, but I'm not gonna rule out the possibility of making the trip. A horror wedding at a cool old castle with a bunch of folks I've known on this site forever sounds pretty fuckin' sweet to me.

@Nova...If we book the hotel rooms with 2 bedrooms in them, Chrono and her man can sleep in the bedroom with the king bed, and you and Heather can share the bedroom with the 2 queen beds...That would be awesome!

I have recently decided that Dustin and I (plus kids) will stay at the hotel with all of you guys, too!...We'll get a block of rooms together for all of the HDCers who show up :D

@Elvis - We don't drink, and we still have fun all the time!..You would be just fine...But, believe me, I REALLY know how it is to be low on the monies.

@Bwind - If you can manage it, that would be incredible...AND...Fortunato lives in Chicago!...Maybe you guys could work something out, and carpool

@Scarebaby - Thanks, I really appreciate that.

@Ferret - OMG!...We could NEVER look that good!!!...That is so incredibly terrific, and are they in the basement of some kind of old building?!...That's an awesome setting, too.

I'm trying to cut down on my smiley abuse...Anyone notice? :p...Oh, whoops!

On a side note: For those of you who don't have Facebook, I want to post this here so you can make fun of Dustin :D
