I've recently picked up Riviera, Yggdras Union, Knights in the Nightmare, Thousand Arms, and the first Devil Summoner to add to my growing collection of Atlus games and you know what? I LOVE ATLUS! I love the company because they take chances, they release games with unusual stories, play mechanics, and characters and these games are often overlooked by people. Why? I don't know, maybe it's the theological stuff and the darker tone of the Shin Megami Tensei series (I'm being asked to become king of the Bels so I can fight and defeat God to make humankind "free" in Devil Survivor) or perhaps it's too "Japanese" for some. What other companies (developers, producers, whatever) out there take chances and release some niche stuff you guys really love? Atlus, Aksys, Nippon Ichi, Working Designs... those are a few I really dig (or Dug in the case of WD...).

Never heard of the company, but i've actually downloaded "Trine" for PS3. Very retro in gameplay but very excellent in graphics.

The cursed crusade looks pretty good tho. Good chance i'm gonna buy that one when it comes out. :)

Oh, i've also got "Demons Souls" from Atlus.

Sure it was beautiful with an original gameplay, but i didn't like what it was original about.

One of the more ballsy and successful games i've played recently is "Borderlands" from 2K Games. Not that there was anything special about the story or gameplay, but the graphics were very unique. Awsome game.

I've wanted to try that one for some time but always forget about it and wind up with something else.

Oh yeah, Borderlands was a lot of fun and honestly I get so tired of games trying to add "more reality" and miss the good old days of interesting games with great characters and settings.

Like Okami... I wish I had a PS2 version for sure.

Oh, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were good ones too

Indeed. Especially Colossus.

Very much looking forward to The Last Guardian.
