I know I touched on it in my Van Helsing post, but I kinda wanna know who's seen Monster Squad and what they think...I personally thought it was very cool. What got me 2 watchin it again was Van Helsing and the monsters...the creature from the black lagoon isn't in Van Helsing, thats ok....and the director already offed the Mummy so that leaves the last 3. Frank, Drak, and Wolfie. Anyway, who saw it, liked it or disliked it?

Loved it. Back in '87, when I was about 12 years old, I think rented that movie a total of 56 times.

I was real little when this movie came out so it scared the crap outta me. I remember it was the first movie I saw in widescreen format.

Everything is so PC now I don't think they'd ever allow a remake where the same age kids would use the same dialog.

Yes Optimus dieing was traumatic in that movie. It's really got alot of adult themes for being aimed at such a young audience, probably becuase its anime when you get right down to it.

Found this cool pic of Unicron with that cool quote of his.

I was eleven when that movie came out. It single handedly made me obsessed with Transformers and made me sick of Skittles all in one fell swoop.

I liked blurr, although they really slacked on his animation after the movie. I always wondered what happened to all of the other junkions, too.....

My favorite parts were always when Unicron modified the "dying" decepticons. That part had awesome cinemetography and scoring for a kids movie.

I also always liked the part with the quitesons(sp?) Those things were awesome.

I still think this movie has better lines than any other movie ive ever seen. If you go to the IMDB, and look up the Memorable Quotes, its like everyone of every characters lines in the ENTIRE MOVIE.

Check It Out (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092106/quotes)

I have blurr on my shelf right now:p . Ya that scene with unicron revamping the Decepticons was classic. Heres a pic.

Orsen Wells PWNS as unicron BTW

"Behold, Galvatron. And these, shall be your minions."

I loved Monster Squad when I was kid. Is it on DVD? I was never into transformers, my thing was He-Man. I had all the figures.

I dont think its on DVD yet. I remember hearing rumors about different companies trying to distribute it and buy the rights but i think it all fell through.

Damn you had ALL the he-man? There were quite a good number of them if i remember right, ya they were cool too. I had that big hairy guy, forgot his name.

Much like real conversations, these threads do take off in different directions.

Monster Squad---Fun movie, very well done, who doesn't like to see all their favorite monsters in one movie.

Childhood toys--I used to have the original G.I. JOE's. The big ones, not those tiny stupid things. They all had the same face [ same scar too ] different colored hair. Then they came out with real hair[ well some kinda shit glued on their heads and faces that passed for hair anyway. ] Oh happy day! I wish I still had some of those. Probably worth a couple of bucks.

Now thats some cool shite thanks for the Link. As for he-man I like moss man or skunkgor. that bastard still stinking up my basement. I had the gi joes to. Growing up i always though the big ones were the lame ones though. Must be a product of the times. The Gi Joe movie also kicks much ass. Globulus and nemisis enforcer were my favorites and when road block(I think it was him) helped cobra commander. good stuff

Kick'em in the nards!

[Both at once] KICK'EM IN THE NARDS!

[Kicks him in the nards.]

[Wolfman howls in pain.]

I'm sorry, I dont want to sound like a dick, but I've seen it butchered too much. The line goes like this. " 'Kick him in the nards, Kick him in the nards!.' 'DO IT, DO IT!' *Kicks him in the nards* 'Wolfman's got nards'. "

baelinfang
04-23-2004, 08:00 AM
My bad, let me re-do that before corrected "Kick him in the nards, kick him in the nards!' 'Wolfman dont got nards!' 'DO IT DO IT!' *kicks him in the nards* 'Wolfmans got nards...' "
