View Full Version : OK, WORST Horror movie EVER, 1970 on......

What do you people think is the WORST horror you've ever seen, possibly even walking out of the theatre on?
There are so many precious little jewels......... it could make a great thread!
Sorry if you have all done this before, but I haven't seen it . If so just humor me!
I walked out on GHOST SHIP in the theatre, and felt the same a couple of mths ago when it was on TV. SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO BBBBBAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
And by the way, I WILL WATCH ALMOST ANYTHING, so this MUST have been BAD!

i actually walked out on blade. thought it was complete rubbish. was pleasantly surprised with blade 2 though. waiting to see what blade : trinity will be like... but it has jessica biel in it... already a couple of points lost there :p
nine9
04-21-2004, 07:32 PM
Just curious why did you walk out?
Wasn't a fan of this myself.
Interested in your viewpoint!
hellfire1
04-21-2004, 07:39 PM
i thought the cgis or special effects or whatever were just horrible... almost laughable. and the whole movie just looked like one big video game, or a video you would see on mtv. such a shame since i'm a big fan of the comic.
i never got to see nor have i heard of ghost ship. that bad ??
nine9
04-21-2004, 07:54 PM
Oh you have no idea how bad!
One day if it comes on TV at 4AM, you should watch it just to feel grateful that better movies have been made and it did not turn away horror fans from ever going to see another again... that bad.
I agree with you on Blade. Although I am a horror fan, I am not a big vampire fan anyway. Tey just don't scare me. Sorry I can't help it. I do like some campy ones though. I also really liked the book Salem's Lot and thought it was pretty creepy!
Don't want to offend you vampire people, but Dark Shadows just gave me a whole other perspective, and it was funny.
Let's Scare Jessica To Death is a creepy one though. Earlier than my generation .
For the record...... I like a story that is so original that I couldn't have thought of it myself. To me, that is a good movie!
hellfire1
04-21-2004, 08:04 PM
yeah. i get your point. vampire movies don't scare me either just because they are always romanticized, imo. vampires are almost always depicted as sensual beings ( thank u anne rice :p ), so it's pretty hard to be scared of that !
nine9
04-21-2004, 08:17 PM
Boy, you are so right......
I am so not a sentimental type so this does not really appeal to me. My hubby is more that way than me even.
But...... I do respect the vampire fans, they are such a big part of our wonderful little horror community!
I like Ghosty things!
hellfire1
04-21-2004, 08:26 PM
i had my period of being a big vampire fan, but got to the point when, like bloodrayne says, wanted my horror to be horrific. nowadays, that's pretty hard to find.
ghost stories are always spooky... but even they blow now ! i almost wanted to leave the theatre while watching gothika... hated it with a passion !
hellfire1
04-21-2004, 08:32 PM

nine9
04-22-2004, 11:04 AM
Gothika was too dark. It was almost impossible to see anything even in supposed daylight. That hospital was really unbelievable too. Too many holes in this movie.
But then..... I never liked Hally Barry.
I agree that they are just not making enough really good horrors lately.
Have you seen the Eye though? That is a good one!
Have to go back to work soon. Now THAT can be scary!

Windigo (is that spelt right?) It's hard to describe just how bad this movie is. Words just escape me. All i can think of is that it was the most fucked movie i have ever seen in my life, I know there might be lamer movies out there but you get the feeling that the makers of those movies knew it was lame so they had some fun with it. These idiots must have seriously thought they had a oscar winner on their hands. I think video shops should have to give refunds to movies that are this bad. an the producers, and director banned from ever making a movie ever again. I was bored stupid by this movie and as u can see by my lack of ability to discrib just how much this movie sucked i still haven't revcovered. maybe i can sue?
nine9
04-25-2004, 09:18 AM
So I take it you weren't pleased with this movie? LOL!
Yes my memory had successfully blocked it out until you reminded me just now.
Boy wasn't the guy in the deer suit the most horrifying monster ever???????????
I hope you at LEAST didn't PAY to see it, and if you did, then hope you had good popcorn!

We had a major laugh over your stick monster description! LOL!
Some fool thought that a Jackalope head mounted upon a pile of timber is supposed to be scary. Any body have a match? A 2000 year old pile of kindling would make a great start for a weinie roast.

Halloween 3 would be a cool movie if it wasn't in the Halloween franchise and was on it's own.
I didn't mind Blade too much. But I know what you two were saying about the pussified vampires we get in our films nowadays. Did you like Dracula 2000 though? I thought they did Dracula pretty cool in that. They made him a total heartless badass. (The way a vampire should be! They're inspired by Vlad The Impaler for fucks sake!)
Worst movie I've seen... Hmmm.... This is a tough one.
-Chopping Mall was pretty shitty.
-Infested was the worst post-2000 one I've seen. Horrible CGI, acting, plot, and direction.
-The Creeps really sucked. I thought a movie about a bunch of midget sized monsters would be cool, but I was waaay off.
-Full Moon Pictures are usually hit or miss. Some are really good and some are terrible.
-I love Troma, because like someone said, they're well aware that they are putting out a low budget gorefest and don't take themselves too seriously. Anyone seen Redneck Zombies? Hahaha. I laughed so hard I almost crapped my pants.
-Lucio Fulci's Zombie has got to be one of the most over-rated films I've ever made the mistake of purchasing.
-I always thought the Leprechaun movies sucked. I guess the new ones aren't as bad because they go for a cheesier approach, but I thought the first couple sucked. Not scary even a little bit.
-Lunch Meat was pretty much the lowest budget one I've seen. (It reminded me of something me and my friends could have put together when we were still in high school.)
-Breeders was lame.
-Demonic Toys sucked.
...Damn... I spend too much time watching really shitty horror movies.

I cannot think of words to describe how much I hate this movie. It makes me want to scoop out my own eyes with a spoon, just thinking about watching it again. I can't get over it. I am actually angry with everyone who had a part in making it. No other movie comes close to how much I hate this one.

Cannot agree more! Such a rip off of the Ring and Ringu, as I have said before!
I really am suprised that there are people who really hate The Ring. At least you would think they might like Ringu, even if they feel it was overrated. I admit, I still have many good foreign ones to see, but I thought these beat the crap out of a lot of shit put out by Hollywood over the last 20 years at least!

I'd have to ad Cabin Fever to the list. Biggest fuck'n disapointment I've had in a long time. I'm surprised about how much praise this thing got. I'd rather watch Feardotcom again. Sure, it didn't have an original thought in it's empty head (Ring+Silence Of The Lambs+Bava's Kill Baby Kill=Feardotcom) But at least there was nothing in there as irritating as that moron in CF giving a monologue about getting a blowjob from his dog, or that retarded "The gun is for the niggers" joke at the end. But I really wanna thank that one acctress for taking her clothes off a lot and distracting me from the rest of this mess.

I haven't seen this one listed yet.
Hollow's End.
The only thing anyone would find GOOD about this movie is the girl on girl action... and even then it was bad. The acting, the premise, the set, the lights, the script was HORRIBLE.
Also, I rented a movie called Hangman's Curse. Baaaaad! Supposedly its based on a book that's pretty good, but I wouldn't know. It was so retarded and you could see the end coming. The dialoug for the high school students were completely bogus... full of slang that only 50 year old men think teenagers use. The acting was terrible. I also didn't like the scene where the lead actress and her new teacher debate about prayer in school. They made the teacher into a fumbling uneducated wimp and the girl into the Prayer-In-School hero rather than REALLY debate why and why not prayer is illegal in school. Also, the whole movie is supposed to be about treating people equally and not judging them by what they wear and how that act, yet at the end of the film, the "goth kids" as they're referred to, actually change who they are and how they act to FIT IN with the cool popular kids. It was a peice of shit, I tell you.

The worst movie to me is the movie (1990) TROLL 2; I absolutely hate this movie because first of all there isnt even one Troll in it.
It does have bad acting, stupid effects BUT that isnt the reason I dislike it. Just naming a movie TROLL 2 and it not having a damn troll in it doesnt make much since to me. The whole milk thing and "Nilbog" spells Goblin backwards is just straight up dumb as hell. I really like TROLL but I dont like this sequel, hell I wouldnt even call it a sequel because it is so far from the first one. I think they should have named this movie "Nilbog" or atleast Goblin

The first "Troll" is pretty decent. I think it has Elaine from "Seinfeld" in it.

That's not the issue. This thread is for 70's and on, Modern Movies is for 70's and on. Classics is up to the 60's. This thread is in the wrong folder.

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of flak over this but "The Blair Witch Project" was the worst pile of crap I'v ever seen.
#2 Exorcist:The Begining (truly terrible)
#3 Dracula's Dog (yes, there truly is a film called Dracula's Dog)

Yes that is the alternate title to this cinema "classic". What's really strange is that it's based on a novel called "The Hounds Of Dracula"
