Night Skies 2007

Directed by Roy Knyrim

Written by Steve B. Harris & Eric Miller

The cast includes:

Jason Connery as Richard

A J Cook as Lilly

George Stults as Matt

Ashley Peldon as Molly

Joe Sikora as Joe

Gwendoline Yeo as June

This films combines both sci fi and horror.

Five friends are on their way to Las Vegas in a large RV. While attempting to take a shortcut, Matt the driver gets lost. When he is told about the lights in the sky he takes his eye off the road and rams a stranded vehicle driven by Richard. The impact causes Joe to fall on a knife which rams in his back.

The group is stranded on a dark tree covered road which adds to the eerie atmosphere.

While trying to care for Joe, Richard appears on the scene to help. Matt does not like or trst him but with Joe in dire need, he lets him help.

While stranded the RV is mysteriously surrounded by alien beings.

Eventually Joe dies and Molly, Matt and June are abducted leaving Lilly and Richard to try and make their way to a cabin deep in the woods. However, the aliens atteck the cabin and both are abducted.

The scene then shows the aliens examining Lilly and removing her future baby she has conceived fostered by Matt.

Richard is then subjected to examination and then torture.

At the end of the film he is found in a rock pit many miles away from where the RV was located and in total shock. There is no sight of Lilly anywhere.

I found this film to be very good in respect to alien abduction. The aliens depicted where of the ET type.

The scenery on the deserted road with little but natural light makes for an eerie sensation, like being out on the foggy moors.

Also the showing of the lights in the sky ( supposedly UFO's) was really realistic and well done.

I found the film constantly moving along with the group trying to get the RV fixed, Joe to a doctor and alien interventions. There was no time that the film dragged.

This is a worthwhile film if you like sci fi and UFO's. It can fit in the horror genre with the eerie scenery, the tensions and the alien abduction and torture.

It's available on DVD and I found one for $3 at Big Lots!

Oops.

I accidentally typed The Marsh in the title. It should have been Night Skies.

The Marsh is coming up next.
