It's a 21st century take on 'Creepshow' and a peek at the dark side of 'Paris, je t'aime.'

It's a new horror anthology called 'Paris I'll Kill You,' and it features a bevy of horrormeisters taking a shot at the underbelly of the city of love.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Dante ('Gremlins,' 'The Hole'), Paco Plaza ('[Rec]') Vincenzo Natali ('Splice'), Xavier Gens ('Hitman'), Ryuhei Kitamura ('The Midnight Meat Train'), Christopher Smith ('Creep,' 'Triangle'), the directing duo Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo ('A L'Interieur') and German music video director Joern Heitmann have all signed on to direct segments of the film.

Instinctive Film and Reverence are producing the project, and K5 Film has picked up international sales rights and will be shopping it to buyers at the American Film Market next week in Santa Monica next week.

The producers are pitching 'Paris I'll Kill You' as the first of a possible "horror city" franchise, much like 'Paris, je t'aime,' which engendered a spin-off, 'New York, I Love You' (2009), with plans for versions focusing on Shanghai and Jerusalem.

'Paris, je t'aime' was a critical success when released in 2006, featuring a score of segments by Gus van Sant, Alexander Payne, Tom Tykwer, Walter Salles and the Coen brothers, among others. (Natali, by the way, helmed the 'Quartier de la Madeleine' vampire piece of 'Paris, je t'aime').
