A nice little article on the most notorious of film ratings of our times - the PG-13 rating system, and the films associated with it.

The lower the rating. The more people allowed to see their movie. Which means bigger chance of making a profit. Which also means. Movies like hell raiser will be made with young kids in mind. Which means less horror content, etc. So yeah. pg13 is going to kiddie up the horror movie industry. Which is going to be fucked up. The only positive. Is there will be less nudity. And as far I'm concerned that is a good thing. As i have always found that the more nudity/sexual content there is in a horror movie. The more it sucked.

I agree I hate that there are sex scenes in horror today especially when its not needed it's just thrown in there, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the plot.

Luckily the remakes are most of the flicks being "kiddied" up though, we continue to have envelope pushing directors and original flicks that come out hard R or go right to video unrated. Hellraiser PG-13? Oh well, I've got the original.
