Hello there fellow horror movie fans, I am conducting an investigation for me A2 Film Studies coursework and I am looking into why horror movies have such a large low-budget audience.
I am also looking into why horror movies recieve lower budgets than other films, all help will be greatly appreciated and if I quote you you WILL be acknowleged :D
Feel free to answer even if you have no evidence, opinions are just as important as facts!

Because horror movies are not funded through money, but by the devil himself.

Are you saying that horror movie fans are poor?
Anyways. I think horror movies have such low budgets for a few reasons.
1. horror movie fans are starved for movies. Sure there are a lot of horror movies out there, but they are shit. But we are forced to watch them anyway. It's either that or nothing. Action fans can be picky. Because there are a lot of action movies to pick from. So if one is reportedly gay. They don't have to watch it. Same goes for romance, comedies, crime etc type movies. And be cause action, romance and comdy fans have such a large range t ochoose from. They (hollywood) have to put a bit more effort into their movies.
2. The movie industry are cheap homos. They know since we horror fans are starved for movies, we will watch anything (just about) So they think, "why should we invest a lot of money? just make a piece cheap of shit and they will watch it anyway."
And i think you would find that the horror movie fan base , covers a large range of social/economic backgrounds. Of all ages.
It's probably the myth that all horror fans are poor dumb rednecks, that will watch anything. That has lead the low budget, poorly made horror movies.
