Hey gang,

I just wanted to let New England horror fans know that my pals and I at SATURDAY FRIGHT SPECIAL (NH's first home-grown horror host TV show, now seen coast to coast) will be presenting another Colonial Theatre Spooktacular at 7pm on Saturday, October 30th, featuring a 35mm screening of 1985's RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD!

In addition to screening the feature on the Colonial's giant screen, we'll be running vintage 80s horror trailers, giving away prizes, and having zombie costume contest!

Here's a poster our pal Sean Hartter came up with for the event:

So shamble on out and be caught undead at the Colonial on Halloween Eve!

Okay, the day just keeps getting cooler.

We've confirmed that S.R. Bissette and current and former students at the Center For Cartoon Studies (in White River Junction, VT) will be holding a comic signing at Comic Boom in Keene (55 West Street, just up around the block from the Colonial Theatre) from noon-4pm this Saturday, the day of the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD screening. They'll also be donating comics and original sketches for our massive series of giveaways; the last time the CCS gang donated material was for our BRIDES OF DRACULA screening last year, and their items blew our socks off, so we can't wait to see what they come up with this year.

Here's a taste of what's up for grabs....a terrifically Trash-tastic rendition of possibly the most memorable scene from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, courtesy of MONSTERS AND GIRLS and AMELIA artist Denis St. John:

If all that wasn't enough, the Keene State College Film Society will be running a 35mm print of CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3D at 4pm, and a new 35mm print of PSYCHO at 11pm!

So, in theory, you could hit Comic Boom from noon-3:30, head over to Keene State for CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON at 4, have dinner, then hit the Colonial Theatre for RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD at 7, and still be out with plenty of time to hit PSYCHO at 11!
