Not my childhood, but games that my children played when they were young. Some I remember fondly:
Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise
Putt Putt Goes To The Moon
Pajama Sam No Need To Hide When It's Dark Outside
Freddi Fish And The Missing Kelp Seeds (see link for pirate song)
Does anyone have favorite computer or video games from their childhood?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amAL26As5MU

As a child I was obsessed with Yars Revenge for the Atari. I also loved one for NES called Faxanadu(I think thats how it was spelled). I spent a ton of hours playing both of them. Hell, I'd still probably play them if I still had them.
Right now my 10 year old son is really into Dead Rising 2(so am I honestly). It blows my mind how much better than me he is at video games, lol. When I get stuck I can usually turn to him for help.:o

I got an Atari 2600 when I was 13. I used to play Yars Revenge, PacMan, Centipede; that sort of game. Never really got the hang of any video game system since then.:o

i used to play TANK, and some other stuff..i think one was called Jungle something..you had to swing on some vines and swim dodging alligators i think..been a while..
Not quite a computer game....but when I was a boy I would make paintings on the cave wall and then my brother UGGH would paint something next to it....soon we would have a completed picture.

I had a Pong console too when I was young. Still have it somewhere around the house.
Then came an Atari 2600. Some of my favourite games for that were Space Invaders, Asteroids, Combat, Haunted House, and Empire Strikes Back.
Commodore 64 was next. Heaps of great games for that computer. Some of the ones that stood out were Summer Games series, Raid Over Moscow, IK+, Flight Simulator II, Racing Destruction Set, and REVS. This system had so many good games at the time.
Amiga was next for me. Lots of great games for this computer, and it was the first computer that I ever got online with (BBS at the time).
Then came PC gaming. Again, so many great games over the years.
Amongst all of this, also had SNES, Sega Megadrive, Sega Saturn, PS2, PS3. But after the Atari, consoles never really held my attention for very long. Always went back to computer gaming. Although some types of games seem to work best on consoles.
I still have examples of pretty much all of the systems that I have played on in the past. Get them out from time to time for some nostalgia.

I remember the first actual games I ever played, were on something called an "Amstrad" which may have even pre-dated Atari though I'm not certain.
The thing ran like...cassettes?
I remember a top-down BATMAN game in which you had to rescue Robin which was pretty cool, though my favourite was something called "Roland in Space".
I also remember the original Leisure Suit Larry, and "Alley Cat" which is perhaps the grandfather of all minigame games.

Most likely the Amstrad CPC464, like the one pictured. Came with a built in tape drive and used a Z80 CPU. So could even run CP/M if you had a floppy drive.
It was made from 1984, so came after the Atari. Was even after the Commodore 64.

I don't have kids right now so can't tell you which games are running these days. But what i think is that children use to play games on PS3 or so and they play games like Prince of Persia and others.
