Queen frontman Freddie Mercury has been named the 'Greatest Rock Legend Of All Time'.
The flamboyant star, who died in 1991, landed the top spot in the poll, carried out by Internet market research website OnePoll.com.
Mercury, who beat Elvis Presley to claim the title, sold 300 million records after forming Queen in 1970.
He was renowned for his charismatic stage presence during his 21 years with the band.
David Bowie, 63, was third in the poll.
Next up was Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, 48, followed by Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Slash, 45, and Bono, 50.
'Freddie Mercury had it all - the voice, the image, the stage presence, everything,' the Daily Star quoted OnePoll.com spokesman as saying.
'He was idolised around the world by millions of fans and his legend will live on forever.
'He combined his ear for music with an ability to deliver to stadium audiences and millions were devastated when HIV finally killed him in 1991,' he added.

Just take Jon Bon Jovi out of there and everything will be fine.

No one else even comes close to Freddie. That's the easiest decision ever. And BONO? Haaahahahahahahhahhahahhahahahhahahahahahahha.

Slash? That pole is flawed. Front men usually SING.

Although I agree the pole is flawed I don't think it was only for frontmen, just rock legends.

I agree with the first 5 on that list, but I agree with Posh...BONO?! I might have switched Bowie and Elvis round, and whilst I'd rather listen to a bit of Bowie than Queen, it cannot be denied that Mercury was THE Rock legend. In fact, might listen to "No-one But You" in tribute.
And here I came into this thread expecting to be dissapointed in the way these poles usually name, I dunno, Bieber number 1.
Can't help but feel Slash should be replaced by Alice Cooper...

A lot of greats were left out of that poll.
Bon Jovi even making the list made me chuckle. Elvis wins, hands down.

Fuck Kurt Cobain. The only thing he did was die at the right time. Layne Staley was ten times the rock god Kurt was. Replace him with Bon Scott, and I'm good.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one, mate:) Still, Bon Scott needs to be there.

It's sad how many times I've had to defend Bowie against my feeble minded peers who deem the putrid mess the radio spews out nowadays "music".

Overall, I'm surprised and impressed that the list is pretty solid.
No one can argue with Freddie Mercury taking the top spot even if they don't agree with it personally.
Bon Jovi is way out of his league amongst those names.
I can't stand U2 but can appreciate the fact that Bono belongs somewhere on this list (probably lower though. Like top 20 or so.)
Where's Ozzy Ozbourne? His omission is so glaring to me that it seems almost criminal. And Steven Tyler? Either of them could have replaced Bon Jovi and both should be ahead of Bono or Slash. (Although Slash IS my all-time favorite guitarist.)

Janice Joplin can't really stand up with most of these greats.
Bon Jovi should not be there however.

I also agree with everyone on the Bowie bandwagon, he is an amazing artist.

Please tell me one interesting or classic thing that Bono has ever done.
And it can't be something that others did before him or something not WORTHY of calling him a rock god.

The Joshua Tree was an amazing album but I agree he is no rock god.

Nah you're wrong. Janis Joplin was killer and is as good if not better than a lot of the people mentioned.

She wasn't around so long, but she did provide a springboard for much of what was to come later. x

Definitely. She had a fierce voice. But yeh it's a pretty stock standard list showing how limited most people's tastes actually are :D
