It puts over 350 movies through a system to calculate the overall gore level of the movie based on each gory, disturbing, or bloody scene. There is an explanation on the main page.
If you want to navigate through the movies, click Movies link and you can select a movie to view all the details, which includes each gory scene and the scene ratings along with scene description and the overall movie rating.
If you want to see the top 300+ list (computer generated list), click on TOP LIST, there is also a "Pound For Pound" list which fairly compares each movie as some movies are longer than others or have more gory scenes than others.
You can access the database here: http://bloodgutsandgore.com
Since the web-site has just been re-opened, there will be a lot of updating to do. Newer movies will be added soon, etc. Stay tuned.
Enjoy! Any form of feedback is appreciated, thanks.
